rainbows
by jeremy cannon
Oh, what are those things called,
that appear after it rains?
Big strips of color in the sky,
damn, I can't think of the name.
But anyway, they remind me of you,
and all of those sweet things about you.
All those warm thoughts you give me,
all of those kind things that you do.
I can't think the world enough,
for making your love mine.
Knowing that you're here for me,
makes the time fly right by.
But, oh wait, I woke up from that dream,
and I remember I threw it all away.
I left you quick, blink of an eye,
I'll never forget that day.
Now I'm hurting bad, all kinds of pains and woes,
now I remembered the name... rainbows.
After the rain fell,
and I needed someone.
You were always there,
absolutely no matter what.
And now that you're absent,
and my life is a lonely mess.
I'll have to give up on you,
and put this thing to rest.
Now I'm hurting bad, all kinds of pains and woes,
now I remembered the name... rainbows.
You've moved on, you're long gone,
and now nothing ever glows.
You no longer love me, you love him I see,
and now, there's no more rainbows.
