The Halls of the B\oodGuard

The BloodGuard Charter

United, we defend those who cannot defend themselves. We serve with love and truth, and protect with courage, for the blood of loyal Sosarians is our charge. We swear fealty to the Virtues and the truth that lies within us. We let that truth guide us to courage and love. The path we tread is narrow, but, broad in scope. We vow to show Compassion to all life, sparing what shows love and truth, courageously giving swift mercy to that which must be sacrificed. We vow to show Honesty in our love, courage and inner truths, to ourselves and to others. We vow to bestow Honor, upon our Order and our devotion, and to those who follow Virtue's path. We vow to show Humility in all things, secure in the truth that we are not perfect creatures, courageous enough to admit it, and with enough love in our hearts to overcome our own prideful-ness. We vow to bring Justice to the blood of Sosaria, imparted with love, courage and truth. We vow to Sacrifice of ourselves that the cause will not falter, nor Virtue be lessened. We vow to devote ourselves to Spirituality, growing stronger in truth, love and courage. We vow to show Valor in the justness of our cause. We vow to judge all that we do against the scales of Balance, that we seem not weak or heavy handed. Above all, we devote ourselves to Compassion and Valor. Compassion is released by the love in one's heart, Valor is renewed by the courage of one's love. Follow these two ideals with faith and find truth at the end of life's struggle.

 The BloodGuard is a role play Order of Knights and Clerics within the Warriors of Rohan Guild.. Our goal is to interact in a meaningful, yet independent manner within the established Role Play Community on the Great Lakes Shard.. A balanced approach to Virtue is our creed, with Compassion and Valor at the forefront of our efforts. We accept war invitations from groups willing to adhere to the standards of Role Play Warfare as long as their is some method behind the madness. If a Virtuous guild wishes to war us, there needs to be a plausible, thought out reason behind such conflict. We also accept recruits freely, as long as they can adhere to the standards set by the community. Our requirements are simple. Go to the WoR Forums, located here, and register with EZBoard, post your desire to join us with your ICQ and EMail address. Once that is done we will meet you in game and ask a few stupid questions. You will then be voted upon by the members present and allowed in or not. Our guild is a group of friends. If your a griefer or fuckhead, don't bother. The BloodGuard have the following rules which all members must abide by;

Rules of War and Conduct

We will never war just to war. This is a Role-playing endeavor and not just pvp. You need to understand that people we war with are also role-players and normally good people, so do nothing to grief them. Its also important to note that they are playing some scenario out as well. Try not to hinder this out side of the obvious. If they are playing vampires , play it as your character would faced with that kind of evil. KOS, or Kill On Site, only applies in Fel. Never KOS in Trammel! You will be removed from the stone with no recourse, should you fail to obey rules. This is the only way we can maintain the high standards I expect. Never use a tame to fight with! There is no honor in killing an opponent with a Dragon or Mare

1.Looting.
Don’t! It's that simple.  If you suspect a role play guildmember looted you, use forensic evaluation on your corpse, even at 0 skill it will tell you who has tampered with it. Take a screenshot of that and then take it up with me. I will handle the situation with their guild master. Do not double click a fallen enemy corpse, forensic eval will tell them you have tampered with it even if you never moved an item in it.

2.- Don’t Grief a warring member.
If you think they are disconnected, or afk show them the respect you would want in that situation. Role-play any situation you run into as your character would act in that situation. Show the courtesy you would want, and role-play it out. Don’t let them not role-playing it break your own pace. Always try and let them know why you are attacking them, if it’s a known enemy (someone you have fought before) then its simple. If its someone you have never seen before explain to them the reason your are attacking them in a role-playing manner. Using the Vampire example. Say you see Dracula standing there, terrorizing innocents. You would announce your attack by saying “You bloodsucking fiend, you shall pay for your crimes against the people”, assuming you know who the person is, wait for a response, they will most likely role-play it back. If so the battle is on. If there is no answer, they are most likely afk. So leave it be, find something else to do. They may or may not argue with you about why you are at war. Play it out as your character would. No mount killing.

3. 30 Minute death robe rule is the standard on Great Lakes
The Blood Guard have a dead and out policy, however. I hate the idea that anyone has an unlimited supply of troops at 30 minutes disposal except perhaps the fast breeding Uruk. If at any time you die in battle with an enemy guild, wear your death robe for a full 30 minutes and leave the area you died in. That area is off limits to you for the remainder of the day. Before you leave the area you are still a ghost. You will not heal, stamina block or say a word. Also you will not attack an enemy guild member wearing a death robe. This is res killing. DON'T do it. No matter what the situation. We have our standards and those are the ones we follow, not someone else’s.

4.Trash talking
Never ever go out of character in trash talking. Some in character posturing is ok, just don’t be insulting to the player behind the character.

5.PK's                                                                                                                                                                   As you can see, we are the good guys. We take an Anti-PK stance in Felucca, unless directed otherwise by your leaders, kill on site. The rule for looting is different, as Justice for their crimes they forfeit their loot. The same applies to thieves who target guild members, but you should stay in character at all times.

6.Titles\Rank                                                                                                                                                        The BloodGuard is an Order within the Warriors of Rohan guild, we are first and foremost WoR, ALWAYS help, without thought, a member wearing either tag! . Your title is based upon the primary skills you have. Warriors may attain 3 levels of rank within the guild, Squire, BloodGuard, BloodKnight. Mages fall into 3 category's as well, Initiate, Cleric, Priest. Knights and Priests manner of dress is different than other members, their colors are blood red and ice white. Third level members are command figures and their directives should be followed without hesitation or argument. The most senior of these members is always the field commander in any situation. A fourth tier exists as well, these are the guild commanders and their titles are Field Marshall and LoreMaster, respectively.

7.Dress code                                                                                                                                                     The guild colors are shadow and valorite blue. Any combination of these colors may be applied to any clothing, to promote a feeling of individuality and style. To these colors, articles of black,  or grey may be applied as you see fit.

8.Karma                                                                                                                                                           The BloodGuard are a Neutral Good organization. This means no Karma below 0 will be tolerated. I personally find it exasperating that some guilds claim to be Virtuous, yet carry around Karmic titles like Ignoble or Sinister. Any act that incurs karma loss is a step off the path of Virtue. I will not tolerate it if it becomes a common occurence. Should your karma fall below 0, you will be put under geas to follow a quest, of the Orders choosing, to regain your status and good name. The code of Virtue is a narrow path, while Balance affords some leeway to stumble, only penance will absolve your indiscretions.

9.Golden rule. Go out of your way to help the guild and your guildmates, and the guild and your guildmates will go out of their way to help you.
