The Ledgend of Shambhala

The ancient ledgends talk about the mystical Kingdom of Shambhala in Tibet.  It was said to be the only pure land on earth.  Shaped like a giant lotus with 8 petals and surrounded by mountains, therefore always safe and protected.  Only humans with pure karma reside there. The people live a highly evolved spiritual life that is free from all suffering and strife.  They practice daily the highest tantric teachings of the Buddha. Meditation is the basis of their existence and as a result its combination of gentleness and strength strongly contributes towards their social responsibility. Shambhala has been a guiding vision for many centuries in Asian culture and compares with western traditions.  The vision of Shambhala is that every aspect of society is sacred: home, family, education, religion, commerce.  The people live dignified and meaningful lives.  Gentleness and non-aggression is the foundation of Shambhala.  This way of life of meditative understanding is available to everyone.  Goodness, fearlessness and humour should be a part of our every day lives.
