The greatest distance ever traveled by a vehicle on the contents of a standard fuel tank is 1338 miles 18 yd., by an Audi 100 TDI diesel car. The car's fuel tank capacity was 17.5 gallons. The car was driven by Stuart Bladon from John O'Groat's, to Land's End, Cornwall, England, and back again between July 26 and 28, 1992.
