*My Reviews*

Khoon Bari Maang - I've heard a lot of good things about this movie and I just had to see it. I too like it very much, I love how Rekha experiments with all kinds of films - she is so original! Anyway, the film has an interesting story, pretty good songs, and of course an award-winning performance from Re!

Ijaazat - a different kind of movie, you can say. It is quite slow but then the last half an hour or so is quite interesting. I love the scene when Naseeruddin Shah sees Re's new husband (ha ha what a slap in the face! :p), the scene where Maya DIES (the annoying brat...) and the song "Katra Katra."

Namak Haram - really old and boring. Rekha doesn't have many scenes in this film.

Madam X - typical 90s film plus Rekha in a bunch of funky super-villain costumes. The first half is quite boring, but the second gets interesting when Rekha's second character (double role) enters the story. Madam X (1st character) is a lot like Madam Maya from KKK with even funkier costumes and Sonu (2nd character) is a lot like Shalu from Biwi Ho To Aisi. Even the song "Main hoo Choori..." sounds and is picturized a lot like "Mein hoo paanwali" from BHTA.

Lajja - One of the best films about women's rights ever made. I think that Rekha and Madhuri had the best performances over all, but everyone else did great too. I liked all the songs. Don't miss out on this film!

Muqaddar Ka Sikandar - Rekha's performance as Zohra was really noticed during this film, even though she wasn't the leading lady (Raakhee was). An overall great film. You must see this if you haven't. The star cast is Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee, Vinod Khanna, and Rekha.

Silsila - A classic. I love this film, but I admit it is kind of boring, overly romantic at times, and let's just say Amitabh and Jaya are my LEAST FAVORITE actor and actress. I liked Rekha's character the best (when do I not?) - Chandni. Sanjeev Kumar did really good in his role as Rekha's husband. Really, he is the only character you truly feel for. Chandni (Rekha) was beautiful and sang nice songs, but there just wasn't any attitude! Anyway, I love the scene (it's my favorite scene) where  Rekha gives Amitabh the bouquet of roses in the hospital room, it is so sweet.

Umrao Jaan - I'm sure this was a dream role for Rekha, and she fit it perfectly. Her look, style, everything was great in Umrao Jaan. The songs are classics.

Alaap - A simple movie with a strong message. Revolves around music, and family relationships.

Zubeidaa - This was the film that really made me notice Rekha (yes, I'm a fairly new fan of hers, I'm only 15). I was just amazed at how perfectly she portrayed the Queen. I remember seeing the ads with the picture of Rekha, Manoj Bajpai, and Karisma Kapoor and asking myself: Who is that beautiful woman?

Agar Tum Na Hote - A predictable storyline, and Rajesh Khanna looks really old. The songs are okay, considering the time.

Bulandi - An okay (for Bollywood) story, but the music by Viju Shah was really good. The ending doesn't resolve anything, and leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

Mr. Natwarlal - It was hard for me to believe that this film is over 20 years old, it just didn't seem like it. It's one of those 1970s action films with love stashed on the side to make it a little more interesting.

Khubsoorat - I don't know how to classify this movie, because you really can't. Just see it for yourself. Rekha has a cute role and acting, which was later copied by Kajol in K3G.

Mother - No matter what the critics say, I love this movie. It was funnier than most comedies and was easy to follow. Also it was cool to see Rekha in a more modern role and film.

Biwi Ho To Aisi - An average film, that has some really nice songs (it was one of Alka Yagnik's first movies as a playback singer).

Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao - This comedy wasn't as good as Mother, and the highlight was the Nach Meri Jaan video with Rekha and Arshad Warsi.

Sawan Bhadon - A suspense story from the early 1970s with Rekha as heroine. She looked so cute at that age! Has some catchy old songs and good acting from Rekha and Navin Nischol. Overall it's a really good movie, better than Chhuppa Rustam which copied it almost exactly.

Qila - A suspense film. There are many suspects in a murder case, all brought together by the Judge (Dilip Kumar). It's kind of like the game Clue. Highlight is Re's "Prem Hai Radha".

Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi - A STUPID MOVIE. It's a copy of American action films. It was unintentionally funny - it's stupidity was hilarious. I do admit that Rekha deserved the Best Supporting Actress award though - everyone else really sucked.

Saajan Ki Saheli - No Comment.

Kalyug - How this won the Filmfare Award for Best Film is a mystery to me. I couldn't watch more than an hour of this - it was TOO BORING. Stay away from this film.

Bindiya Chamkegi - An 80s film with a little too much of everything - love, mystery, and violence - to be a good film. I didn't like this either.

Souten Ki Beti - Dumb and over-dramatic. TOO many songs and a LONG length. Don't watch this.

Censor - Everyone who saw this knows that it was terrible. It had a huge star cast, but everyone had small, insignificant roles where their talent was wasted. It was also very boring. (Who cares if that film got passed or not? it looked stupid anyway!)

Aastha - A different type of film and Rekha's character is very different from her others. A good, but also kind of sad film. It didn't give any problem and solution, it just told a story. I liked this film very much, but one wonders how it got past the censor board...(ha, there it is again)

Udaan - A 90-ish film starring Rekha, Saif Ali Khan, and Madhoo. The songs aren't good, but it is good to see Rekha in a more recent film.
