Rekha Ditched For Tabu!

Mahesh Manjrekar seems to have the nerve and great box office sense to become one helluva opportunist. The dope on the story is Manjrekar had signed Rekha to play the title role in Kabhi Dhoop Kabhi Chaaon, a remake of his own earlier Marathi hit Aai. But that was before Tabu's Chandini Bar became a super duper hit. Now driven by Tabu's success, Manjrekar changed his mind on Rekha. Like all other Bollywood directors he has also decided to cash in on Tabu's box office success and replaced Rekha with her in the film.

Rekha's ethereal good looks and her unmatched make-up techniques have finally failed to impress Manjrekar. After all, how long can facelifts and personal aura help an actor to survive in this ruthless film world?

One does feel sorry for the seasoned actress who was banking on Manjrekar's project to wash off the gloomy patch which Lajja's failure cast on her. Unlike others, it's not easy to charm this most sought after director, Rekha.

Goldy's comment: I say good riddance - I don't want Rekha to play a mother anyway, atleast not in that guy's film. I'm looking forward to stuff like Koi Mil Gaya (ha ha)......
