Gwragedd Annwn

Cloaked in white, Gwragedd Annwn am I--
A faery maid, speaking words tongued by fire.
Tylwyeth Teg-born child of light and sighs,
Late of woodland, wave, and hidden briar;
I slip within and steal away the fair.
Beautiful white-haired child of grace and song,
Remember mother's whispers: "Boy, beware!"
Or to Faerieland steal with me, ere long!
Dance with me lightly, as if it were spring;
Wipe the sadness from thy face, ashen pale--
Exchange it for music and faerie ring.
For though I may seek to steal thee away,
'Tis only to bring thee some joy this day." |
