Ouch
!!! I believe I have just crashed. .
On January the fifth 2000 I lost another one of my lives.
I am now down to seven lives bearing in mind I have ether stopped breathing
or my heart has stopped twice. If I do it again I think the hospitals
are going to black list me. It is now almost May and I still get
asked what happened. I thought I would write this page to sort of
explain to the best of my knowledge what happened and how I managed to
hit the only tree for almost 20 miles.
This is basically where I started to lose control.
I came round the bend you see in the background at what I though was about
80 mph , in retrospect and after the voicing of opinions by friends I realized
I must have been going faster. The reason for this is that at 80
mph I should have been able to hold the car on the bend, as you can see
it is a nice gradual bend with a good road surface and I had been driving
the car for two years. The car skipped the kerb with the back end
and took out the barbed wore fencing along the road. As you can see
the wing mirror was left from the car indicating that I almost slid down
the embankment backwards or that the front of the car came this way and
then somehow span round. I cannot really remember as I lost consciousness
when I hit the tree and when my head hit the windscreen.
I returned to the scene of the accident with Ross and Nick to try to ascertain what happened almost two months after the accident and I found these parts from my car. The wing mirror is here and part of my bumper and part of the fencing which I crashed into. I picked all of these parts up and have now put them into the boot of my Fiesta as a sort of good luck charm.
Here is Ross and Nick , two top blokes who spent their days off from work to come down and have a look . In the background you can see the knocked down fencing. In the foreground there are parts of my car. Ross even got to drive my Renault back from here to Bexley. Thanks again lads for coming down.
This is all that was left of my prized Cavalier.
Hopefully this page will dispel any theories on my little mishap, as everyone
has their own theories on what happened .
