YOUR PRIVACY:

Some people just don't give a damn.

I respect your privacy, so you will NEVER see ME use cookies, hostile Java-scripts or refers to collect data for commercial use or dissemination. What Geocities sends you is beyond my control, it is NOT my doing. I don't like things they do any more than you do. Seems since they became Geo-Hoo, they've increased the spam level to an almost intolerable point.

I personally DO NOT endorse the Spam-banner or the little Java patch that accompanies this page or others on Geo-Cities, so don't cop an attitude with me, I can't do anything about it either. I suggest you merely dismiss it, and NEVER, NEVER click through, and encourage its use. Let these spam merchants rot in hell before you participate, let them waste their $$$.

If you hate this corporate spy crap as much as I do, then you had better look into a decent personal firewall. I heartily endorse the firewall made by the now assimilated company @guard. (Email me and I perhaps can find a copy for you) You would be amazed at the bombardment of spy crap that comes in even over a dial-up connection. For those of you on xDSL or (pity) a cable modem, you are a sitting duck without a firewall. Cable modems are notorious for being spied upon, having packet sniffers and generally being insecure. You would also be surprised at how much faster the Internet works when your firewall is blocking all those foot dragging spam-ads that want your attention. I have almost DOUBLED the speed of loading a page.

This brings me to:

How secure IS your machine?

Better take a look. Check out Steve Gibson's site for an eye opening look at what you are giving away every time you are on line. http://www.grc.com

You may want to check out the program from Intercantech, called Pop-OFF It eliminates pop-up banners and all sorts of spam pushed at you. It works well, it speeds up browsing by eliminating the time for the spam to load, and I heartily endorse it!!!

I heartily endorse giving false information to further screw up those pages that attempt to collect info from you to sell to the Spam merchants. Further more, you can block cookies in the newer versions of Netscape, and in older versions (3.1 and below) you can use the properties command in Windoze95 & Win98 to mark your cookies file read-only. You then leave the cookies command active, and no information will be returned. Sites that demand you receive cookies, like Microsoft's, should be avoided like the plague.
