As It Was
Angela Sanderson was your average young adult, living a care free life, never thinking much about the future. Fresh out of college, she had landed a job with an ad company in the city, giving her the time for her own personal projects as well as letting her be in the creative atmosphere she needed. Although she was a very shy and somewhat withdrawn girl, tending to spend more time in her art than socializing, Angelica was blessed to have more than her fair share of close friends. Then, tragedy struck.

She was walking home from a get together with her friends one frigid night in the dead of winter when she was attacked and killed on the streets. They found her body the next day, an expression of sadness frozen on her face. The coroner wasnt able to determine the cause of death, nor where the police able to discover any clues as to who attacked her.

A year went by, her friends on loved ones mourned her passing, and the world moved on...

Then, almost a year to the day, news of a grizzly murder spread like wild fire across news papers, programs, and certainly all over the net. It seems someone had been attacked in Central Park, ripped to sheds like they had been mauled by a bear. The police wouldnt let out too much information, but they did say that some of the marks were made my a man. What they didnt tell the media were that those were teeth marks, and that the attacker had taken his fair share of meat out of the victim...

As It Is
Its been a year sense Angelas death, and about a week sense her Reanimation. Two days ago she attacked and killed a would-be rapist out of hunger, rationalizing that she would be able to get away with it because of the nature of her victim, as well as the fact that the police wouldnt look into a dead girls records for finger prints and dental records. Angela dosent know at this point that her bite has certain special properties, and that could come back to haunt her in the future...

Angelas reanimation is a complete mystery. If the ZM wishes to concoct a viable reason for it that will fit their story, then they should by all means, but for the purposes of this setting its really a moot point.

The real important point of the story in the fact that Angela will seek out her friends for help. This is where the PCs should come in, and there are several ways they can be involved.

One way would be to have the PCs be close friends. These people are the ones who would give anything up to help Angela, and may very well do so during the coarse of the game.

Another would to have the PCs be someone who stumbles upon the situation, but takes a sympathetic view of the situation. A gruff detective who worked on the case, for example, who might want to help Angela track down her killer.

Yet another way would be to have the PCs play a group of people who find out, and end up deciding that Angela is too dangerous to be left alive and needs to be killed... again.

Anyway you play it, the name of the game is drama and character interaction. This isnt the typical survival game, unless you look at it from Angelas perspective. Here are a few plot ideas.

*Angela has to eat, just like everyone else. She just happens to need warm human flesh. She would never eat her friends, but how will they react when she needs to get something in her stomach...

*Slowly, over the corse of many game sessions, Angela becomes more and more comfortable in her role as an undead, almost reveling it, driving the PCs to doubt their motives (unless they wanted to off her in the first place).

*Someone (one of the PCs or a strategically placed NPC) just doesnt buy the whole reanimation thing and gives an anonymous call into police headquarters, prompting an investigation to begin...

*Angelas first victim seems to be up, running, and making more like himself at frighteningly speed. Preying mostly on the homeless and criminal elements of the city, soon the zombie population has sky rocketed. They keep to the sewers and dark corners, but soon theyll be great enough in numbers to come out...
