Ping
----

This program was released in hopes that the general public would get
hooked on scanning public sites and would help "spread the wealth."
If you successfully scan a site that is used by another "group," please
leave it be unless you have specific permission to make use of it.

IMPORTANT: The use of a wingate does not guarantee your anonymity! It
only masks your identity one level. Your firewall settings will only
be used for the PubFind section of ping as well as the built-in FTP client
and port scanning if you set it up. All other functions such as ping
and host lookup still use a direct connection to the internet. Use of
this program suggests that you are involved in an action known as "Network
Probing" and is heavily prohibited by Internet Service Providers and site
owners. If you scan, assume that your account will be canceled. I can not
be held responsible for any of your actions if you use this program.

Requirements

Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows NT
Windows 2000

*Ping 24.4.4.* IP range
*Host lookup

*Log wingate engines found, in addition to FTPs
*Wingate usage to protect privacy

*Check OS type and FXP/Resume capabilities
*Record speed
*Modify queue to reflect your scanning processes
*Import queue lists from other popular scanning utilities
*Autosave queue
*Many configurable options

Known Bugs
----------

*If you are using a proxy, make sure it is reliable. Some proxies cop out
after the first successful login. If you are getting an unusual number
of "Proxy Timed Out" or Wingate errors then check to see if your proxy
is down. That is most likely the problem.

*Be careful of the number of ports you scan. If you have an insanely
large list of ports set in your preferences then you may get a buffer
error when trying to scan them. This problem is directly related to
how much bandwidth you've got and how many internet related resources
are available.
