Then he heard the nasal voice of Edna Volinski, the woman who manned the ticket booth.
^All the technology of today and they can't even get rid of Edna's terrible voice.^ He thought to himself as he approached the front doors.
"No, I'm sorry but you can't come in today." Edna told the middle aged couple who were standing near her booth.
"But we've come such a long way." The man, who had a slightly balding head of blonde hair and blue eyes, told her. "Couldn't we just have a quick look?"
"That's just out of the question!" edna told them.
"Well you just wait till we tell all our friends how badly you've treated us!" The woman, who looked like she was part Klingon, threatened.
Worried, Kenneth spoke up. "Now, Now," He placated "I'm Sure you could take a quick tour."
Edna muttered something obcene under her breath and Kenneth made a mental note to ask her to cut back on the curses around prospective customers.
"Well that's more like it." The Klingon-looking woman smiled as he led them to the Voyager exhibit.
The first display was of Captain Kathryn Janeway. The man walked over to the holo and stood next to it.
"You know, I think you've made her a bit short." He commented.
"As a matter of fact, I checked the Captain's details and they are perfect." Kenneth told them stiffly as he led them to the next display, Commander Chakotay.
"You've done the tattoo wrong." Was their complaint about the Chakotay holo, and when they saw the Commander Tuvok holo, their immediate respose was; "His ears aren't pointy enough!"
The forth display was of Lts Tom and B'Elanna Paris. "Wow... He's cute." The woman remarked when she saw the Tom Paris holo. "Much better looking than you." She said to her husband jokingly.
"Why thank you darling!" The man replied. "Why, I feel the same way. She's much better looking than you!" He joked back. Then he turned to Kenneth. "I think that you should've made that Tom guy's eye's bluer." He commented. Kenneth shook his head in disgust and led them to the next display, Ensign Harry Kim and his Wife, Seven of Nine.
The man and woman had insulted that display, and the next display, The Doctor, as well. Then when they'd seen the holo of Neelix, the Delta Quadrant native, they couldn't even talk because they were laughing to much.
But in the next display, the Kes display, all of their jovality vanished.
"She's beautiful, isn't she." The man asked. The woman nodded and wiped a tear from her eye and the man put a comforting arm around her shoulders. They stood for a few minutes of respective silence and then moved on.
For the rest of the displays, the resumed their dialouge of insults and complaints. Finally, Kenneth couldn't take it any more.
"That's it!!!" He burst out. "You two wouldn't know a good hologram if it came up and bit you on the nose!"
"Or cheek..." The man murmered under his breath.
"GET OUT!!!!!!!!!" Kenneth roared, pushing them out the door and slamming the door in his face.
That afternoon Kenneth greeted several important people with a smile. Then he ran into Captain Kathryn Janeway herself.
"Captain! It's an honour to meet you!" He gushed. "I'm Kenneth Brown, the Museum Co-ordinator." Janeway shook his hand warmly and they chatted for a minute. The she caught site of three familiar faces.
"Kenneth, theres some people I'd like you to meet." She led him over to a nearby table. "Kenneth Brown, This is my husband, Captain Chakotay, and my conn officer, Lt. Cmmndr Tom Paris and my Chief engineer, Lt. Cmmndr B'Elanna Paris."
Kenneth shook Chakotay's hand and turned to the Paris'. "You!!!!" He gasped.
"Hello Mr. Brown." Tom greeted him. "It's nice to see you again."
"You know each other already?" Janeway asked.
"Oh yes Captain," B'Elanna laughed. "We met this afternoon when he threw us out for critisizing his displays."
Kenneth had turned an interesting shade of pink. "I-I really must be going now..." He backed away.
"Bye Mr Brown!" Tom called out. "It was nice seeing you again!"
