During his secondary school days, Jimmy was very popular among the girls because of his good looks, but he showed no interest as he felt that he's not ready to fall in love. Everyday, when he reach his class, his table would be filled with letters and gifts from the girls and he would even distributed the gifts among the boys in his class as the girls were watching him outside his class. Jimmy would always bring his 3 'treasure' to school - comb, mirror and hairspray and he would always comb his hair before lesson end. So after lesson, when all the girls came out to look for him, Jimmy would come out, posing.
One day, when Jimmy and his friends were joking and playing at the staircase outside a library, a girl walked past and at that time, Jimmy was attracted to her. From that time on, he would always pull his friends along with him into the library to look for her. He would always find a table near her. As time goes, it's no longer a different table but sharing the same table with her and her friends. Jimmy would sit opposite her and wouldn't talk to each other but they would steal glances at one another. Then one day, his friends called him out and said that Xiu Liang had been waiting at the staircase for a long time. Jimmy then shyly walked towards her and asked if she would be his girlfriend. His friends woke him from his daydreaming and told him to go to her. Like in his dream, Jimmy went shyly towards her, stammering but instead of asking her the question, he asked, "Are your legs tired?" and she could only laugh. But in the end, they were still together. And Jimmy would always wait for her in the library and buy her lunch. In the evening, he would walk her home but both of them were very shy and don't talk very much. Sometimes, when Jimmy accidentally brushed his hands against hers, he would become very embarrassed. He wanted to hold her hands but he didn't dare to. Finally, when they reach her doorstep, she said, "I'm home" and walk towards the door. Jimmy then called out to her, after pausing for a while, he said "Goodbye." Everytime, he would wait for her to go into the house before he hail a taxi to go home as his legs were tired from all that walking but he felt that being able to walk her home was his happiest moment. One day, as he was walking towards the library to fetch her, he saw her coming out and went towards a guy on a motorbike and left with him. Jimmy looked with disappointment and left in a taxi. That was the end of an innocent and simple love which lasted for a month.
End of re-enactment.
As Jimmy was watching the re-enactment, he kept bursting with laughter as it was too exaggerated. Even I couldn't take it when I was watching it. Especially the part where he comes to school surrounded by girls and posing on the corridor after lesson. Anyway, Jimmy brought 2 of his secondary school buddies with him. I can't remember their names but one of them is rather small sized and the other is quite plumb. Harlem asked them whether they are the ones who accompanied Jimmy to the library and they nodded. Jimmy also clarified that he did not distribute the gifts like what shown in the re-enactment, instead his friends would distribute them and pin the letters up on the board before he even reach school. His 2 buddies also admitted that they were one of the culprits. Xiao Yan Jie asked if Jimmy really attracted many girls in school and they agreed.
Finally, it was up to Ah Liang to do the searching. He went to her secondary school to look for her home address as well as her classmates information. That evening, he went to the address stated but no one was in. The next day, he called up all her classmates to ask about her address but to no avail until one classmate who doesn't know her address but knew that she went to a business school after graduating from secondary school. Ah Liang then went to there to get her information. After getting her new address, he realised it's still the same building but instead of 7th floor, it is now on the ground floor. When Ah Liang asked for Zhou Xiu Liang, the owner said that there's no one by the name of Zhou Xiu Liang though there's one by the name of Zhou Xiu Ting. ?????
Back to Jimmy, he said that he seems to remember that she lives on the ground floor. Xiao Yan Jie then told Jimmy to stand in the middle of the stage and wait for the door to open, see if she would come. While Jimmy was waiting of the countdown, he seems very nervous and kept wiping his perspiration on his forehead. Finally, the door opened and she really appeared. In my opinion, she isn't really very pretty but she looks very decent and proper. Anyway, it turned out that she had changed her name to Zhou Xiu Ting. Jimmy said to her, "Hi! Long time no see." and pointed out his 2 buddies to her. Harlem asked her if she still remembers them but she said that she only remember the shorter guy since he would always stick to Jimmy. Harlem then teased him of playing gooseberry but he denied and said that he was in charge of watching over Jimmy's and her belongings and Jimmy gave him a nudge.
Xiao Yan Jie asked her how was Jimmy like at that time and she replied that he was very shy. Jimmy then continued that that was why they don't talk that much. Harlem then asked her who was the guy she left with on the motorbike, and it turned out to be her father.
Later, Xiao Yan Jie asked if she has a good news for Jimmy and everyone looked at her curiously. Then, she told Jimmy that she's getting engage the next day. He was very surprised but he still happily congratulate her. She passed her wedding invitation to him and he opened it up, showing everyone her wedding photo. At this time, Harlem teased him saying that he received a wedding invitation but the bridegroom isn't him. After they all had a look at her wedding photo, they all realised that her fiance resembles Jimmy's buddy, the shorter one who claimed to watch over their belongings. As he looks like her fiance just that he's not as tall. Harlem started joking that he stand on a stool to take a photo with her. Xiao Yan Jie added that at that time, Xiu Ting may be with Jimmy but she liked Jimmy's buddy instead. And Jimmy kept bursting with laughter. They all didn't mind the jokes and laughed along happily. It was a secondary school reunion night for Jimmy and his friends and the show ended happily. |
