"Whatever happens I want to share it with you. Prison, death, hell, anything.", says Tony to Sophia Loren by the end of the movie. Ain't he sweet? This is the only of his romantic movies I've seen until now... so I just melted when I heard this.
There's another one: "Get out before I kill you!", he shouts to Loren... and she tells him he wouldn't dare... remember this was 1957... she would have taken him more seriously three years later!

BEST MOMENT
Tony drunk singing "My Bonnie lays over the ocean, my Bonnie lays over the sea, my Bonnie lays over the ocean, please bring back my Bonnie to me..." He's soooo cute!!! Then, there's a really hot scene in which Sophia Loren's on a rocking chair and she says to him with a really sexy voice (plus the Italian accent, obviously): "Mmm Mmmm... Isn't the sun strong and hot?... Burning... Burning into the earth... Making things to grow... Burning inside of you...". Is this burning hot or what???!!
There's another scene with a shirtless Tony (you just have to see this to understand how HOOOOOOOOT he was!) and Sophia Loren throwing grains all over him. And any scene with him smiling too.

WORST MOMENT
I really tried to find one. I almost can find one in all of his films, but I really couldn't find one bad moment in this one. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a really nice movie.

REVIEW
This is to all of you who might read this and are not Perkins fans: if you're planing to watch this film just remember it's from 1957. Because for most of the people who don't like classics it's just because they can't fix their minds into the time and the mood. Back in the 1950s there was no The Matrix and no special effects. And anyway, back in the 1950s some of the best movies of all time were made.

If you are a Perkins fan I don't have to explain this because you understood it a long time ago. What I do have to tell you is that in this film Tony is HOTTER THAN HELL!!!!!! I really mean it. Even Josh Hartnett could envy that body and that pretty, pretty face. Another thing to tell to everyone out there: this movie is SO HOT IT'S ON FIRE!! I already mentioned some dialogue, well, most of the movie is just like that. Just picture young and sexy Sophia Loren and younger and even sexier Anthony Perkins... it was a mix that was ready to explode... and it did.

To the movie now. The sets are no good at all. This is definitely what you may call a cheap movie. It's supposed to take place in a sort of farm and it was just filmed in a studio. So you won't be seeing any of the landscapes you see in East of Eden. But they didn't need them anyway. The takes and cuts and all the camera work is not as good as Psycho either (Obviously!- Psycho is just a masterpiece!!), but it's not that bad and there's really good photography in a scene where you have Tony and Sophia "under the elms".

The movie starts with a young Anthony whose mother is dying- she tells him where his father hides the money and makes him promise he'll fight for that house because it belongs to him. Then you have grown-up Tony (�Eben�, as a matter of fact) who's fighting for his house. But all of a sudden his 76 year old father comes home married to a 25 year old Sophia Loren (Anna). And I don't think I have to tell you more. As always young, handsome, athletic and sweet sweet Tony is gonna steal the woman from his father's arms (we've already watched this in Phaedra - though it's a latter movie, 1962). How could one stay with an old, fat, horrible guy when Anthony Perkins is under the same roof!!!!!! For Christ's sake!!!. So Loren gets pregnant and the old guy is just so proud because he was "macho" enough to get his young wife pregnant. Only I don't think I have to tell you that baby is from Perkins (I want that baby!!!!! Don't we all?). And the old guy becomes everybody's joke. And then some things happen; Eben gets mad at Anna and she goes totally nuts (Sophia Loren is just MARVELLOUS in this movie!) and she makes an extreme decision (which, obviously, was the wrong one). All of this takes both Perkins and Loren directly to Hell where, I'm sure, they couldn't get hotter than in this film.
