Osgood and Anthony Perkins by Laura Kay Palmer (1991)
Illustrated with some 100 photos, this comprehensive chronological survey of the careers of Anthony and his father Osgood includes not only all of their film and Broadway performances, but virtually all road, summer stock, radio and television work. Although this book is currently out of print, it would be well worth looking around for, and is comprised of mainly reviews rather than being a biography.

Anthony Perkins: A Haunted Life by Ronald Bergan (1995)
This biography describes how, to a great extent, Perkins' life was an attempt to bury his notorious association with Norman Bates. It highlights his struggle, which took him through homosexuality, psychoanalysis and drugs. The book, for which the author interviewed a wide variety of people who knew and worked with Perkins, also depicts an attractive man of charm, humour, courage and talent.

Behind The Scenes of Psycho by Janet Leigh (1995)
In this book Janet Leigh fondly remembers working on the classic thriller, and takes us through the preproduction, shooting, and aftermath. She relays stories about working with Hitchcock, Perkins and several of the other actors involved, as well as embarking on the publicity campaign for the film and it's huge reception. With a foreword by biographer Christopher Nickens. Highly recommended!

Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello (1990)
Perkins himself called this scholarly yet readable book "marvelously researched and irresistible ... required reading not only for Psycho-philes, but also for anyone interested in the backstage world of movie creation." And Time critic Richard Schickel calls Rebello's book "one of the best accounts of the making of an individual movie we've ever had."

Hollywood Gays by Boze Hadleigh (1996)
An entertainment journalist since the 1960s, Hadleigh conducted volumes of off-the-record interviews with celebrities reputed to be gay or bisexual. In these interviews, conducted over the years with 10 Hollywood stars (including Perkins), Hadleigh attempts to get normally secretive actors to speak about their sexual lives and shed light on the film industry's undocumented social history...
