The Progress

May 19 2003: Purchased the car!

May 27 2003: Started to remove interior (pulled apart dash, removed door trims).

June 2003: Discovered rust in the driver's floor pan, can see the ground through the hole (so much for not much rust *mental note: check under body more thoroughly next time*).

June 4 2003: Purchase personalised plates: MAD308 (Now we're going to have to live up to that reputation).

June 18 2003: Cleared out boot and remover rear bumper and lights.

June 26 2003: Started work on new door cards.  Trimmed one as an example.

June 27 2003: Trimmed rear parcel shelf including embossed designs.

July 7 2003: Designed front door cards, incorporating the speaker pods and embossed designs.

Long period of doin' nothin'.  Funds ran temporarily dry and time was non-existent.

December 12 2003: Started the long and painful process of stripping the paint off the car.  First, the passenger front 1/4 panel.

January 2004: More paint stripping. Next, the bonnet, driver side front 1/4 panel...

February 2004: And even more stripping. Started on the roof.

March 20 2004: Went for a drive. Backed out of the carport, down the driveway and sat in the front yard for the afternoon whilst cleaning up for Shell's 21st on Sunday.

March - May 2004: Time has become of the premium. VH is sitting neglected.

21 May 2004: To compensate for not having the time to work on the VH, we went out and purchased a V8 to enjoy for now. Our new daily driver is a 1996 VS SS Commodore, BAM58 (Brett and Michelle 5L V8). Check out the pics here.

June 2004: Yay! Holidays have arrived. Hopefully we will have heaps of time to finish off the prepping job and hopefully have a nice new shiny shade of blue.

August 2004: Hmmm... nothing much has happened, still.  The VH got relocated to outside the carport, so that the SS is under cover.
