Welcome to Charm's Fashion Tip 10/3/03 (Updated per few weeks)
What
inspires me (and wishes she could afford these classy brands) are the different designs that all these 'classy' brands seem to come up with. Unfortunatly not all of us can afford such of these brands (like myself), I mean, Collette Dinnigan charges $2000 for a top, now that may be why there are hardly any of her stores in Sydney, the fact that most of her stores are set overseas where famous people such as Nicole Kidman are able to afford clothes that she designs. I'm getting a bit off track here, but besides the whole expensive prices, some of Dinnigan's work inspires me to want to make my own clothes sometimes (ie. fashion parade last year my 'cocktail' dress was inspired by her clothes.
Anyway what I've noticed around in stores are kimono looking styled tops or chinese 'cheurng saum' outfits, my example ----------------------->
I don't really find it so fasinating (besides the fact I am Chinese) as to why people would wear chinese stuff like this, but I guess if one person wears it, everyone else would.... but if that seems to be the fashion trend now and what's in, well *cough* go ahead.. give in and buy it.
Who knows, next time you see me I'll be wearing one of them..
My Fashion Tip: I think its stupid. (by the way, please don't let my opinion offend you if you intend on buying this fashion FAD... I take no responsibility...)
UPDATE: 25/6/03
This whole chinese thing is still going.. i'm so glad the peasant look has finally gone past (i think) NOW people are putting their jeans and pants inside their boots? please no...
This was an fashion mistake whilst i was in HK last year watching nearly everyone have their pants tucked into their boots, i found it sooo strange and amusing but then i thought it was just Hong Kong..
now it's come to Australia and i really don't like it, it just looks so funny.
Thats me though, you could be different, and that's ok:) You're just a sucker to fashion.. but who isnt anyway.. i still am.. i just don't like the whole tucking in.. uncomfortable.. although i guess it would be good on days where its raining, then your pants wouldnt get so wet at the bottom like mine did today.

Here are some links: I do recommend Collette Dinnigan, she has some beautiful designs and Paul Frank, its just sooo cutee
