This is going to be an odd one, but I think you'll enjoy it. I own nothing.

She was
seventeen, young and beautiful. Her
Asian chin raised, she stood poised to take on the world by any means
necessary. She was unusually popular
for her quiet nature and lack of participation in clubs. Standing proud, she would come down to
breakfast on time, and greet her mother and sister, then leave for school, lost
in her thoughts, thinking of a Japanese boy who always appeared in her dreams.
On the other
side of the Pacific Ocean, a fifteen-year-old girl stood before her mirror. She was thin, but strong, and looked about
thirteen or fourteen. Her father worked
long hours, and soon they would be leaving for a place called Tokyo, Japan. She had taken entrance exams by mail, and
would be starting school in a girls' school in south Shinjuku as a first-year
in high school division, the equivalent to a sophomore in America. She was soft spoken and well-liked, and was
an ace on her softball team an the long jump. She had never tried pole vaulting, and wondered if she should try,
but something always came up, barring her from trying.
The American
girl came to Japan in early spring, her eyes wide and inquisitive. Her blonde hair hung long and straight, her
brown eyes taking in everything, imprinting them in her mind. "Remember, Leigh," her father had
instructed, "we only have one year, so make the most of it."
The American
and the Japanese girls met on a sunny afternoon in March, both dressed in
windbreakers and skirts. The American
girl had wandered into a nearby park to admire the budding trees, and the
Japanese girl had gone in to lose someone who was tailing her. The dark haired girl turned her unique green
eyes upon the newcomer, going to pass her by when the man tailing her appeared.
A few other men
jumped them in that moment, two grabbing up the American as the Japanese girl
used her fighting knowledge and sneaky nature to take care of all who
approached her before taking care of the men trying to take the American away. As soon as the girl was dropped, the Japanese
nymph had her by the hand and dragged her away, neither stopping until they had
hit the middle of the nearest shopping district.
The American
apologized and thanked, then left the Japanese girl watching her leave.
They both had
similar dreams that night, and both believed that they were looking for the boy
in their dreams.
When school
started in April, the Japanese girl became the American's student guide. The girls grew closer, and as they did their
dreams intensified.
The American
keeps hoping to find an intriguing youth with blonde hair and bright green
eyes.
The Japanese
keeps hoping to find an innocent boy with longish black hair and large brown
eyes.
Yet, neither
understands why with dreams like those and wishes like those that they want to
live with the other for the rest of time.
