... "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?" (Acts 8:36)
Jay, Honey, Paz, and Imee had wanted to be baptized for some time. We were all excited for them and wanted to have them baptized ASAP. But where? The church had no baptistry, public pools would require them to wear bathing suits, there were no beaches (or clean rivers) in Taipei.... so where? We thought of doing the baptism in a bathtub, just like we did a few months ago but Jeff and Gina (the couple who rented the apartment) have since moved to another apartment without a bathtub. So, where?
Then Ate Connie and Kuya Francis Lammawin, our dear friends and spiritual guardians, told us they were moving to an apartment because the current one was already for sale. And their new apartment has a bathtub! They had just signed the contract with the new landlord and weren't scheduled to move yet, but the landlord already gave them the key so they could begin using the place.
So, on October 8, a cold, rainy Saturday, we trooped to the Lammawin's new home in Hsichih for the baptism. What a blessed day it was! Here are some photos taken during that special event. Glory to God! |
