Isn't that what we all ask from time to time? Right?
Someone tells us something and we just don't get it.
Or maybe we do, but we are angry about the matter
And so we say, "What's the Point?"
In other words, "What are you getting at anyway?"
Sometimes someone brings up the subject of religion,
And we feel uncomfortable, and a little uneasy.
We may be interested but afraid to press the subject
When sometimes, we really would like to find out more,
But we feel a little exposed, and unsure of ourselves.
And so, we just become a little blunt and simply say,
"What's the point anyway? I'm as good as the next guy".
And then we do, and we don't, want to hear their answer.
Okay, if it's uncomfortable speaking one on one,
Why not just read this privately and get some answers.
The "point" is that God has done all that's necessary.
He came down in the person of His Son and died,
Rose from the dead and made it possible that all....
And that means you! And that means me! All of us
Can one day stand in His presence perfect and complete.
If you are a sinner, and we all are, you qualify! Why?
Because Jesus said, "I came not to call the righteous,
But sinners! He came to put away our sins by His sacrifice.
When He was on the cross, " We were on His mind."
That, too, is the point. You can come to Him just as you are.
It means that God loves you, wants to forgive your sins.
Wants to assure you that one day you will be in heaven.
But you must come to Christ......come just as you are.
Not trying to clean things up first. That would not do
For Salvation is a gift and can never be earned.
It's by Grace, through Faith that we are saved, not of works,
Lest any man should boast. That's what the Bible says!
It states very plainly that "The gift of God is eternal life
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord". But then you say,
"What about the fine print? There is no fine print! None.
The Bible is written in easily read type so that everyone
Can read it. Clear enough for anyone to get the point.
Come to Jesus and tell Him that you are a sinner and that
You need forgiveness. You want to receive Him as Savior
And that you want to change your life and live for Him.
Final point: Jesus has never turned down an honest seeker.
