HOW OUR LIFE CHANGES IN 30 DAYS

It would seem that most of us struggle with the word "Someday."
Someday I'm going to do this or that, but time gets away.
Very often way down the road the word lives to haunt us.
That "Someday" then is just a distant memory.

The Spanish have a very old proverb that says it this way:
The road of By and By leads to the town of Never.
How often that is exactly how it happens.
We have good intentions, but other things crowd in.

No problem, we say. We'll do it next week or next month.
But all too frequently things don't go according to plan.
Things can go terribly wrong with no forewarning.
An accident, an illness that strikes suddenly. Just happens.

It was in a restaurant and the couple were just leaving.
He said, "I'll go out and start the car." But she said, "No,
I have the key, and I'll be there in just a moment."
As her husband left to go outside she sighed wearily.

To the cashier she said, "He can't drive or do anything now."
And then, "How fast our lives change in just 30 days."
Nine small words that spoke volumes to the cashier.
And to those of us who sat close by. Stunned.

No details were given, no further explanation made,
But we knew that something serious and unexpected
Had happened to him to change both lives forever.
A lifetime of dreams now to become only memories.

As she left, the place became silent as we watched.
Watched with compassion a woman whose world crashed.
A woman whose very love might well be taxed to it's limit,
In the days or months or years ahead. Brokenhearted.
The Bible says, "Boast not yourself of tomorrow." Why?
It goes on, "For you know not what tomorrow will bring."
Have you turned your life over to Jesus Christ?
Or is it something you plan to do "someday." For sure!

For sure? Think of the couple in the restaurant.
Their world turned upside down forever in just 30 days.
How many times have you said that you would receive Christ,
But just a little later in life. Perhaps when you're a little older.

In our fast paced world of computers, decisions are made
Not in minutes but in micro seconds. How long has God given you?
He says, "Today is the day of salvation---harden not your heart."
Jesus died for you. He loves you now. Decide for Him now!

Jesus invites you now. Angels are listening now. Come as you are.
Now. Bring your failures, and your sins, and leave them at His feet.
Whoever will call upon the Lord shall be saved. Today.
Don't let the word "Someday" block your way. Decide now.
