Forgiven
I think we would all agree that "Forgiven" is much more
Than a single word. It's a happening! It conveys so
Much meaning. Be it a happening in a family, or among
Friends, or the result of a commitment to Jesus Christ.
The sense of relief. The sense of peace. It's amazing
How one word can begin a chain of events. Renewed
relationship with a loved one. Or a renewed friendship.
Or forgiveness of all our sins by the Lord Jesus Christ.
And remarkably they are all possible for each of us.
In the case of a family member it may only require an
Apology for something we did to hurt their feelings.
Friends, may want clearing up of a misunderstanding.
In both instances there is a feeling of well being again.
For many of us it is "hugging" time. What a joy! But
What about the word "forgiven" in the third instance?
The matter of forgiveness of all our sins by Jesus Christ.
Thanks be to God it is really not that complicated. For
Jesus said, "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners
To repentance." So, He came to call you and me, right?
For we are all sinners and if we are truthful, we admit it.
First we need to tell Him that we are sorry for our sins.
A good illustration of this is in the Bible. The man is so
Anxious, and because of his sin he says "I am troubled.
Just like a heavy burden my sins are too heavy for me".
Then this poor man cried out and the Lord heard him.
And saved him and put his feet on a solid rock. Secure!
Then the man says, "I delight to do your will, Oh God."
His sins are forgiven. He is "forgiven" Forever Forgiven.
This greatest of all "happenings" can be yours today
If you'll come to the Savior confessing your sin and need,
And asking Him for forgiveness, assuring Him you do...
Intend to live for Him the rest of your days with His help.
So, we have seen that "Forgiven" is really more than a word.
That it is something that happens that can bring peace.
Peace with loved ones, peace with friends, and best of all
If we come to Jesus, everlasting peace. Forever peace!
