ETERNITY IS NOW
It would seem that we have the idea that eternity
Is something that happens after we pass on.
When we hear preachers speaking about eternal life
It is always something that will begin after death
But it's not that way at all, we have eternal life now.
Just as soon as we are born into this world
We have it. The real question is where we spend it
After this life is over. Heaven or that 4 letter place.
It's something that we all think about at times.
But many try not to think about it at all. Not ever!
So they cram their lives full of all kinds of activities.
Pleasure, their work, TV, and time with friends.
But the thought that we will all live on forever,
With just a passing from earth to elsewhere.......
Will not go away. How much better to face it.
Face it and do something about it. God wants that.
That's why He sent Jesus to go to the cross to die
To die for sinners. And we know we are sinners.
But Jesus said, "I came not to call the righteous, but....
Sinners to repentance". That includes you and I.
Eternity is right now! The real "us" never dies.
The body dies. But the soul never dies, it goes on.
Christians can sing of "in the sweet by and by" and
"somewhere the sun is shining". What about you?
Why not confess that you are a sinner. To yourself,
And to God. Tell Him that you can't save yourself
And want to receive Christ into your life as Savior.
If you mean it with all of your heart it's Salvation!
As you begin to live for Christ and read His Word
You will find that "Eternity is Now" means Joy!
Joy and the forgiveness of God through Jesus Christ.
Now begin the first day of a new part of your life.
