Black Magic Stout.

 

AHA Category Description:

Sweet Stout Overall character sweet. Black opaque. Medium to full body. Hop bitterness low. Roasted barley (coffee like) character mild. No hop flavor or aroma. Sweet malty and caramel evident. Low to medium alcohol. Low diacetyl OK.

General Information:

Gravity 40 to 56, Colour 40 to 70, IBU's 15 to 25.

 

My Recipe:- for 25 liters

Malts : 

Pale malt  4.5 Kgs
Crystal malt 0.4 Kgs
Amber malt 0.3 Kgs
Black malt 0.2 Kgs
Wheat 0.2 Kgs

Extracts :

Brown sugar 0.2 Kgs
Lactose 5 grams
Caramel colouring 40 ml

Hops : for 25 IBU's: 

1st Hopping Southern Brewers 10 grams 60 min Boil
  Cascades 18 grams 60 min Boil
2nd Hopping Sterian Goldings 15 grams 10 min Boil

 

Mash temperature : 69 degrees Celsius

Start gravity : 1.056    Terminal gravity : 1.010

Yeast : English Ale Yeast slurry
