Veritech VF-1S (Valkyrie)

Installation, FAQ and model craft notes (XWA)

The Craft
The VF-1 is a fighter used by the Robotech Defense Force (RDF), that has three modes of fight: fighter, guardian mode and battloid mode (fighter available in this opt only). The tech to make this craft comes aboard an alien ship that crash in the earth. Along the huge ship a city was constructed and scientist start researching into the ship. They discover the hover tech and start to put the huge ships systems online again calling it SDF-1. Next a multi-role fighter to be aboard the ship was needed and Dr. Lang make the prototypes using the tech discovered into the ship, the result was the VF-1 (note: Roy Fokker was the test pilot)
Are four types of VF-1: A, D, J and S
A: Standard VF-1 (1 laser)
D: Trainer VF-1 (two seats, 2 laser)
J: Officer's VF-1 (2 laser)
S: Ace's VF-1 (4 laser)
Japanese notes: the original name of the Veritech VF-1 is Valkyrie VF-1 and the one of the SDF-1 is Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (the name of the series also), the name Robotech was created in the USA version. Robotechnology is a general word that describes the Valkyries and Destroid tech and Protoculture is a reference in the Zentraedi calendar, all the mech and craft in Macross are not powered by Protoculture, in many cases use standard devices, for example the battlepods are powered by a thermonuclear reactor.

The model
If you see my first VF-1 model you will notice that is very complex and has a lot of faces (quad and tri-faces) and with a little amount of low-res textures. In my research of new tech to allow to me to use my models created on 3DS MAX I discover that for the complexity of my first version was impossible to convert it, so I start to make it more simple and detailed, the best reference was the one in the PSX game "Macross VF-X 2".
The result was a more simple mesh but more accurate and similar to the PSX game, now part of the detail is marked by high-res. textures.
Problems fixed:
- I close the air take because in space is not needed to be open
- The wing texture problem was fixed
- More detailed engine textures
- Engine glow fixed
- Tail wing texture fixed
- Enhanced cockpit and engine mesh
- Weapon location fixed

FAQ
Q: Can I transform to Guardian mode when press "F"?
A: No, you can't.
Q: In future versions you will make it to transform?
A: I don't know, allow it to transform is very complicated and the result will not change nothing only the external view, is a very hard work just for nothing, however if the XWA editing continue researching on the hard encoded things making it to be more easy to add special effects, I can start to do it.
Q: Can I fire warheads to multiple targets?
A: No, you can't, XWA engine doesn't allow it.
Q: What happen if I put your old VF-1J and the new VF-1 in the same dir?
A: You will create a world where I am a Jedi Knight and you a mouse bot =)
Q: Can I save Minmai if she is on trouble?
A: Yes, you can...

Q: BHE is hazardous?
A: No, is a program like the calculator.
Q: The VB5 runtimes are hazardous?
A: No, is like when you install any driver, files are copied in your Windows/System dir and don't affect your computer, just are here.
Q: Can I uninstall BHE?
A: Yes, if you get boring of it you can easily uninstall it like another program without any effect.
Q: Can I uninstall the VB5 runtimes?
A: Yes, you can easily uninstall it, no special effect.
However, use it at your own risk =)

Known Bugs

Little face problem, a problem that can fixed in ACE_DXF option "flip all vertex order in this mesh", but when I trying to save to OPT I get the error "^tvertexnl index not valid:0" so I can't correct it. If you know how fix it please contact with me.
