| Course Description The Preliminary course is structured for students to investigate : * people, groups, events, institutions, societies and historical sites from the ancient world. * archaeological and written evidence and the methods used by historians and archaeologists. The Preliminary course introduces students to the language and concepts of Ancient history through case studies such as Tutankhamen�s tomb, Bog Bodies and Iceman, and Greek Drama. Main Topics Covered Part I� Investigating the Past: History, Archaeology and Science: (20%)� Case Studies � at least one: (20%) Part II Ancient Societies � at least two case studies, chosen from the options provided (40%) Part III Historical Investigation : (20%) |
