Match Report

Time: 1998/10/28, 9:00am
Venue: Home Ground

¡@¡@¡@¡@It is a summary of yesterday's matches.

¡@¡@¡@¡@Yesterday those were all sudden-death matches. We finished 4 wins in a row, with 2 goals from Jimmy, and 2 goals from our star Anthony.

¡@¡@¡@¡@Anthony showed why he is considered star of the stars in the football world. Both the 2nd & 3rd game were finished by his goals. The 2nd game was an easy stuff, but the 3rd was a hard one - against Gary's team. Gary is also a star in the football league, as he is both physically & technically strong here.

¡@¡@¡@¡@The victory is mainly the result of our hardwork & Anthony's incredible individual skills. His goal can be regarded as goal of the season. First, he controlled a high ball down, then walked pass Fat Dog, their big defender, into the box. Gary wanted to close him down & make challenge, but he tackled high on Anthony's knee. Nevertheless, Anthony could still balance himself & fire a rifle volley into the far corner of the net.

¡@¡@¡@¡@The 1st game, we versus the Yellowers. The main threat from the opponent was their right wing forward, Philips. His pace threatened us, even our fastest man Jimmy didn't have 100% confidence to mark him. But we still won it, Jimmy came up from the back and shot from long distance. His right-foot shot went underneath of keeper's hand into goal.

¡@¡@¡@¡@Jimmy also scored in the 4th game which was also against the Yellowers. It was also a long range effort but this time with his left foot & the help from keeper's poor judgement. His shot crept into the far bottom corner of the goal & the keeper was totally ball-watching. During this match, their flying winger was frustrated by Ken, only the confusion between Yu Chun & Luke gave him the chance.

¡@¡@¡@¡@In the last match, Douglas & Opposition's rugged central defender crushed together while Douglas was trying to take a shot, & the opponent was trying to clear the ball out. Their feet crushed together, and they got hurt. The opponent hurt his leg, and Douglas hurt his right arm on landing. We may expect him to be out for days or play unfitly.
