Elmira Alexis Loggie, Point Aux Carr

b. 28 February 1882. m. 5 July 1911. d. 17 January 1964. Elmira was one of five children born to David and Elizabeth (MacDonald) Loggie of Point Aux Carr. Elmira was a first cousin to the enterprising Loggie brothers, Andrew, Robert and Frank, of the A. & R. Loggie Co. Ltd., Loggieville, and a second cousin to William Stewart Loggie of the W.S. Loggie Co. Ltd., Chatham.
As a young woman, she won a beauty contest in Loggieville, and was an accomplished organist. She married William MacKenzie of the MacKenzie Settlement in 1911. She and William had seven children: Lena, John, Gordon, Byron, Wilhemina, James, and Catherine.
Following the death of her husband in 1957, Elmira moved to Fredericton to join her two daughters, Mina MacKenzie, RN, and Lena, Mrs. Robert Harvey. She passed away quietly at the home of her daughter, Mina, in 1964.
