Byron Robert MacKenzie at Centre

b. 20 October 1917. m. 28 June 1945. d. 16 July 1997. Robert Byron MacKenzie was the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. William MacKenzie of Napan. Byron worked at several odd jobs around the area until he joined the Militia in 1941 and the Royal Canadian Army in 1943.
He was stationed in Canada, serving in the Service Corp as a driver at most times. He met his future wife, Miss Lorna Watling of Black River, in 1941. They married in 1945 and Byron discharged from the army in 1946. He went to work at C.F.B. Chatham in 1950 as a custodian and retired after thirty-two years service in 1982.
Byron died of heart complications in 1997.
