I have compiled a full list of International Airlines Serving New Zealand, including a list of airlines that have served New Zealand in the past.
Star Alliance, oneworld and SkyTeam are the three global airline alliances that increasingly dominate the industry.
Air New Zealand (this link is to its New Zealand site) carries me on most of my business and personal travel. Its former budget subsidiary, which was absorbed back into the main airline in 2008, traded as Freedom Air. Following hearings, the New Zealand Parliament's Finance and Expenditure Committee issued its 2003/2004 Financial review of Air New Zealand Limited and 2006/2007 Financial review of Air New Zealand Limited.
Australian-owned Qantas, with a fleet of wet-leased B737 aircraft, and Pacific Blue operate cabotage services on New Zealand's main trunk routes.
Nelson-based Origin Pacific, which was New Zealand's other main domestic operator, ceased passenger operations on 10 August 2006. Tasman Pacific Airlines (which traded as Qantas New Zealand following the purchase of Ansett New Zealand) went into receivership on 21 April 2001.
