As I lay in your arms
in those tender moments
after we make love,
I think of how wonderful
it is to be with you,
finally.
All of the years I've spent
in the agony of the journey
just to get to you
seem to dissolve
under your finger tips
as you caress me
with your love
and look at me
with a Mandy Dee quote
displayed in your eyes.
"Heart healing" you send me
from the doctor's bag
in your soul.
You make me forget
all the memories which haunt me
just by stroking my hair.
You calm the fearful waters
in my heart
as your hand rests tenderly
on my breast.
You keep me safe,
even from my own demons
and give me the security
to allow peaceful slumber
to rest gently on my eyelids,
taking me through another night
in the heaven of your arms.
