| My report on the phallacy of the elephant seal "language" | ||||||
| The cry, or 'bark' of the elephant seal doesn't sound like an elephant at all. In all reality, these sea mammals have more in common with the common housefly than an African or even Asian elephant. Anyway, the SOUNDS! Sometimes donkey-like, sometimes shockingly human, the braying and howls of these animals SEEMS to hint at a form of intelligence, but it is not to be. Animal language specialists have recorded these seal's barks and they sound remarkably similar to American English, only delivered at TOP VOLUME and with a bare minimum of useful information being communicated despite the marathon length of their barking fits. Sometimes, these horrible creatures will bark at each other for hours on end, though they appear to be sharing valuable facts, it is a fake-up (something these animals know much about). In reality, their jibberish is aimed almost entirely at themselves. To make themselves feel big (as if they weren't big enough). When looked at through human eyes, this practice is very sad. And it makes me want to look away and plug my ears. |
