Spring Break 2000
Gallery 3
This page is from the last day we were in Juneau.  Half of our group went skiing, and I was supposed to be part of that, but my alarm didn't go off in time, so I couldn't go.  Later that day, I became very grateful I didn't go.  The other half of our team went on what I've been told was a 3.5 mile hike to the Mendenhall Glacier.  This was one of those days where you just slow down and take in the world that God created, and all of it's beauty.
This just might be my favorite shot that I have ever taken.
I was already expecting the glacier to be inpressive, but I could have never imagined what I was about to see when I got down to that opening.
I really wish all of you could see the actual pictures or see this yourself.  I'm not sure how these will look on your computer.  I have never, ever seen a blue as pure as  this in nature before.  It was so beautiful.  The ironic part was that I was colder during the hike than I was at the glacier.  My breath was taken away when I saw this.
Adam (one of my packing partners) and I on the glacier itself.
The face of the glacier, Mendenhall Bay in the background.
A picture across the bay at a waterfall.  You can see it from a distance in the picture above to the left.
It just doesn't get much better than this.
