Harry Jackson
Harry Jackson (John Anderson), MacGyver's late grandfather, was the only family MacGyver though he had until he met his son, Sean "Sam" Angus Malloy, in the final episode.
When MacGyver was young, Harry (he didn't like being called "grandfather" - he said that was for old people) always gave MacGyver little tidbits of information, of which MacGyver quotes in many episodes. In most of those episodes, it's actually helped him get out of situations!
Harry left MacGyver and his mother after his wife died. MacGyver was only 10. MacGyver hadn’t seen Harry in over 18 years, until MacGyver paid him a visit when some hit men were after him. Though the hit man did follow Mac to Harry's cabin, but, strangely enough, it brought MacGyver and Harry closer than ever!
