It's a boy!

I was scheduled to be induced that morning. So, we arrived at 5 AM (ugh! I mean, not that I expected a good night's sleep but come on!) and they started pitocin at about 5:45. It was pretty slow at first, but by 9 or so contractions were coming hard and fast, with less than a minute between them. After every contraction, Matt kept asking, "are you sure you don't want the epidural now?!?!" I guess he didn't like the faces I was making. They decided to slow down the pit because they were concerned about the baby coming too quickly (what?!?!?). And I waited as long as possible before requesting the epidural but then had to wait for him for more than 30 minutes (they said he was just down the hall)! So, that was the hardest time. It was a weak epidural (which is what I wanted so I could feel to push) so I could still feel the contractions some, but everything slowed down so I was able to take about a two hour nap. Nice! When I woke up, they turned up the pit and I talked with Matt and Erica for a while before they checked me again and I was dialated to 9. It was almost time! They called for the dr and I had to NOT push for almost 15 minutes which was also VERY hard. Finally when she got there, I pushed for about 10 minutes. I think it would have been less but I was shaking so badly and really having a hard time focusing the breathing so my face was turning all kinds of blue (or so I am told). I just sobbed when he was finally born. For some reason, I was much more emotional about the physical act of his birth then I was with Avery. I was so relieved he was out of my body, I think was part of it. The first thing he did was pee on the dr. That was pretty funny. He hasn't peed on my yet which has surprised me (and I am sure when he finally does pee on me it will be quite a surprise since I have been lulled into thinking it won't happen).
