11.26.00-what the hell happened last night? could it be mitchell was actually happy when they left the stage? november 25, 2000 was the first time ever we have had no complaints after our show. not to say we played perfectly but we just didnt care. it was the most fun i have ever had. and when your smile is that big you cant see past your cheeks. whatever that means. my new favorite show. the main reason the show went so well was a little thing called the simpletons. since we have a split with the long since broken up band we play one of their songs that was never released called "ashley". now the drummer thor had joined next season, who we played with that night, and former guitarists josh and eric came to the show last night to watch him. however they missed us playing that song the first time so we were asked to play it for them again right before our last song. and thats where all of our night took a turn into our hearts forever. stepping back, eric and josh took the mics and for about two and a half minutes i was sort of in the simpletons. it was the coolest thing i had ever seen. it was like an oprah reunion. i guess. then eric sang a jackson 5 song with us. by the time we played the last song anything we had held back was gone. i think it was one of the most energetic shows ive ever played and boy did i perspire. i honestly thought i got water dumped on me at one point. i could see it dripping on to my shirt. it was gross. anyway, we figured out that playing good actaully makes people like you and we finally started selling a lot of merchandise at a show to complete strangers. i suppose thats all the news i have. im still working on the rest of this website, please dont kick my ass for it not being done. also big kisses to fallen hero for letting us use their amplifiers. those kids rock hard. one last interesting fact: (i sound like mr. miller) i never wear pants to shows. i have always played in shorts, even outside in the dead of january last year. except the first time we ever played which was december 1998 on adam farrells driveway. that night we ran around in some leaves and i slid and ripped a tiny little hole on the right knee. almost two years pass and i decide to wear pants last night. after we played i was made aware that there was a huge hole in my pants. it turns out last night i wore the same pants i wore at our first show, and since that first show weve always played with disappointment, until last night when i completely tore that right knee apart and destroyed the pants that had cursed us since the day we started.......

11.6.00...and its back. ok so the state theater was fun. weird, entrancing, blah blah blah im sure all the kids that really wanted to know what i thought already know. we built huge cardboard amps to make it look like we were professionals but i think i injured someone when they were thrown at the end. backstage was absolutely crazy. all the bands ive seen play there left their marks on the wall and i spent all night combing over those walls again and again. and being grossed out at the dead rats with the unsung zeros. and being made fun of by useless id. heheh. it was so cool to play with those bands and sagoh too!..bands ive looked up to for awhile. its cool when you start playing with bands you used to go see all the time. i had an unsung zeros song in my head when we got there and i thought it was so cool that i had a song in my head and the guys that wrote it we sitting next to me. anyway, i think weve got all the pictures back from that show that were going to get so ill put them up once i figure out how to work a computer again you can look too. our split came out as well as that little league comp that benefits aids in children so you should at least buy that or else your a babykiller. speaking of benefits, we have a show coming up this month at central skate park in clearwater with next season and fallen hero and last chance that is for a "non-profit skateboard organization" and dont ask me what the hell that is but i guess its a good cause to come feel good about yourself, i certainly will. we'll probably debut, yet ANOTHER new song..i know, "what the hell band is this?" not very mitchell-esque to be productive and all but yeah thats how it goes now i suppose. we have new shirts. did i already say this before? i think i did. i dont know what im typing anymore. moron this later...HAHAHAH. im so dumb.

10.7.00- so its been a long time....i dont even know where to start. it feels like coming home from a big trip. theres just so much to fill the space between then and now and weve all gone through so much in those times. well first lets go through the summer of 2000. i see the last big news was posted in april..april 21st was really i think when we went through "mitchell puberty" after that show we really werent happy with how we sounded and were upset we had been playing the same songs and doing the same stuff weve been doing since we started. so we decided to dump all of our songs. i dont think we were really ready to though because when the time came for another show in may we were in the most awful state of not wanting to let go but afraid of doing something else. i think it really hit us how terrible we were in july when we played at the university of south florida. that was one of the most disgusting performances i will ever remember and that night we decided to "break up." We never really stopped being a band but we werent going to do anything until all of us really wanted to again. this was one of the best things i think we ever did because when the time came to finally get back we were alot more productive and have been having alot more fun. there is still alot of stuff we havent totally ditched but for the most part we are now actually getting our shit together and moving in the right direction...in other news, our cd came today. i think once this is out we will be able to put a big thing behind us. we recorded it a year ago when we hadnt even really begun to figure out what we were doing so its not really the best stuff there is but it should be cool to finally have something plus the other 4 songs that make up this split by the Simpletons are super good. also the little league records compilation NEW PORT RICHEY IMPROVEMENT PLAN v.1: this bitchin piece of compact discery features us as well as an unreleased live song by DOWN BY LAW and more tracks by COOTER, UNSUNG ZEROS, NEXT SEASON, THE SIMPLETONS and billion more. this and our split will both be for sale for only 4 damn dollars each! the split will definitely be sold on the 21st and the comp will be ready by the end of the month, hopefully in time for the show...shownews..as im sure alot of you know because its old news we will be playing at the state theater on october 21st with useless id and sagoh 24/7. originally allister was supposed to headline but i guess things didnt work out and now they are trying to find someone else to round this show out but its still going to rock some huge ass. itll be the return of good ole mitchell and maybe the debut of good mitchell! we can all dream cant we. it will certainly be the debut of a different mitchell. we have all new songs aside from the 4 old ones that are on our cd, so you will finally see something new from us which is kind of frightening but i have a feeling things are looking up...websitenews...and lastly, youve probably seen the new website. just like the band, this summer we pulled the plug on this here internet contraption and have slowly been putting pieces back together. its not totally done but oh well itll get there. ive decided to leave alot of old, embarrassing stuff around, like all the news entries. i really would not like anyone to see how stupid we used to be and how hard we tried to always make it sound like we were a real band or knew what we were doing but its kind of cool to look back on sometimes and see how we grow up and to laugh at us becase we are dumb...conclusion...its a new day in tampa bay kiddos, and im thankful to those kids who havent forgotten about us even when we became the topic of new port richey summer drama. things have been rough this season but i guess its lik you have to drop a little bit before you can really take off. wounds have to be cut before they can heal. you have to be an ugly duckling before you turn into a swan. im retarded. dont rip up your mitchell stickers just yet....

6.17.00- We're boring. We're playing a bunch of shows soon. One at USF with Hankshaw and Bright Line Spectrum. Also, other news.

4.25.00- Gee golly, I've been yelled at so much for not updating this here webpage in 20 days which is weird cause the people who have been telling me to update know very well whats going on. However, it is my duty to inform the ones who dont care. So here we go..Going back to April 7th we played at the River Ridge High School ACE On The Road Talent Showcase in front of like 700 kids that had no choice but to be there. It was super fun and I got major woodburn (?) or whatever sliding across the Pasco County Center for the Arts at River Ridge stage. So that was cool and the next day we played here in NPR w/ the Whyioughtas, Althea, Nevertheless, As It Stands, and Sixteen Hours. I had so much fun. Our little backstage/dressing room was filled with Nintendo and Sega Genesis and everything else a boy could dream of and things just went very well and rewarded me with fond memories I will look back on and smile about. So we got t-shirts. People wear them. April 21st we played with No Motiv, Next Season, and As It Stands at Central Skate Park in Clearwater. Very cool to be playing with bands you are a fan of. As always though we still suck and screw all our shows up although at the Skatepark some kids were kicking the shit out of each other during our set so that was pretty redeeming for me at least. The kids got rowdy. Some guy knocked into the microphones and slugged me in the face but hey that's rock 'n' roll, eh? As for the future of Mitchell, we are hopefully finishing the stupid epic mixing process of our CD and everything should be good to go. 4 Mitchell songs, 5 Simpletons songs. Watch out sister. We arent going to have many shows for a while, probably not until school is out. We'll be working on new songs, better grades and whatnot. Our show was in the Weekly Planet which was a big deal for me. I dont know about anyone else. I guess thats about all I have to say, so I hope this satisfies the kids that needed this so bad. Oh, we are finishing up a brand new web page. It'll be better than this one. Mitchell is turning over a new leaf, baby. I think my mom took my film to get developed from the past two shows so I'll get those as soon as I can. Until then....

4.5.00- OK, well Alkaline Trio is not going to be playing the show on the 21st. They probably found out we were playing. Just kidding. But No Motiv and Cooter are still playing and thats wicked sick! By this Saturday we will have t-shirts. You can see the "Black America" logo on our Stuff page. I'm not writing anymore. See you kids on Saturday.

3.14.00- I thought of some more news. Here's some: HOLY CRAP! I can't believe it. This is what its all about I tell ya: April 21st we are playing with one of my favorite bands in the world, ALKALINE TRIO along with other bands I friggin worship :ahem: No Motiv and Cooter. I don't think I could find a better show if I dreamed it. I've gone to see two of those bands in the past and would so pay mucho deniero to see them again and now were playing with them. Its a punk rock dream come true. I'm so giddy. I'm probably gonna be all stupid and affected. Or I'll pretend to not care. Ah whatever I'm still buggin out I can't even begin to explain it. So come see us look stupid in front of three of the best bands around right now. Oh my god!!!! In other news, at the end of July were are going on a Florida tour with fellow Absit Invdia (our new label due to merging and other business-related words) recording artists As It Stands, and Alterior Motives. These kids are awesome and its going to be a lot of fun trashing hotel rooms and throwing backstage parties and being huge rock stars with them. So if you live in Florida and like the punk rock flava (or Mitchell) you gotta come out and see it for yourself. Speaking of shows if you see me or Chris or Mike at anyone of your schools be sure to buy an advance ticket for April 8th or else the show wont happen, jerk. Go to http://mp3.com/stations/littleleague for more info on that show. More news later. In the words of the great Martin Lawerence: "Bulee dat!"

3.5.00- Hi. It has been a darn while since I have updated this here news section so I'm going to try my best to address all the crap thats been going on. First off we played a rad show last night at the new Bourbon Street in New Port Richey. The kids from Rade01.com did something with a tape and a record button and they are going to make something out of it like a CD or something I dont know but we had to sign contracts or releases or something. Secondly, album news. The split has been titled "Since Forever" and we are just waiting to get the Simpletons songs to put on there. Chris said they should be out in May. Moichandising: Supernova is super cool and going to make us t-shirts. Yay! Also we still have stickers and patches and vacuum cleaners and rocket packs for you to buy. We have a voice mail thing that I dont really ever do anything with but if your bored call 1-877-290-5080 ext. 337 and say something dumb and maybe one day I'll check it. We've got some really cool shows coming up with some big bands so keep checking the shows page for info as soon as they get confirmed. I dont wanna be spreading no dirty rumors just yet. Anyway I guess thats all. By the way if anyone has pictures or video tape of our show last night at Bourbon Street (Me wants) please e-mail me at [email protected] or better yet fire up that AOL Instant Messanger and find some stupid kid named brettderekwalsh. That'll be me.

1.23.00- Dippin' in the chocolate, indeed. Last night was a step forward in the future of Mitchell. First of all yahoo for new Supernova Entertainment recording artists, Mitchell! We have been signed to the South Florida label which features the prominent florida band Die Tomorrow and some other out of state bands as well. They will help put out the Simpletons split and we are pleased and excited all at once. Looking out for number two, we now have our stickers and you can order them by saying "hey mitchell slap a s ticker on my hairy, boil-covered ass!" or something to that caliber. The show in Naples was rip roaring fun and we got to meet some radical kids from down south there. It was one of the best time I think weve all had and by the end of our set I ended up in a pool so thats always good. Get the hose! So anyway thats all I have to say about that. Naples Waffle House has poor sanitary standards. Remember that. Bucs lost today. That sucks. I don't know what else to say. So I guess I'll leave it at that. I'm smelly. 1
