"Paper or plastic?" By Guillaume "Frenchie
Fuqua"MacFarlane
I started the week having to read the heart-
wrenching biography of bag boy and future
"Hall of Famer" Kurt Warner’s accent in the
NFL while leading the Arizona Cardinals to
the promised land. I ended the week feeling
like I’d been speeding on Hurricane Mt. Road
on an out of control snowmobile. Super Bowl
XLIII had more momentum shifts than a
roller coaster in Old Orchard. From Warner’s
drive in the late second quarter to James
Harrison’s 100 yard interception return in
the final seconds of the half. From the
immaculate penalty call of "Roughing the
Steeler" to Big Ben’s "Hail Santonio" pass
with the ballet catch on two toes, Ben sought
redemption from his lack luster performance
in Super Bowl XL.
It was certainly a day to remember for the
black and gold, helping to insure
Roethlisberger’s legacy. In conclusion, I
spent the weekend trying not to be an
obnoxious Steeler fan. In this I think I failed.
But putting that aside, "A toast to the
Pittsburgh Steelers....while you’re at it, make
it a six-pack. Paper or plastic?"
If the Pro Bowl is played and no one watches
it, did it really happen?
