Close Window Engineering controls use technology and devices to remove hazards from employees in order to prevent exposure to blood or body fluids. Engineering controls include but are not limited to:
  • Hand washing facilities or waterless hand rubs
  • Puncture-resistant, leak proof sharps containers
  • Laminar flow hoods
  • Padded liners with biohazard labels for pneumatic tube system
  • Disposable face masks
  • Eye wash stations
  • Needleless IV systems
