WEDDING ARTICLE: MARGARET TENA (MACDONALD) AND                                               ALBAN BERTRAM MACADAM

(Directly quoted from The Guardian Newspaper in P.E.I. on February 16, 1916)

"An affair of more than passing interest took place at St. Andrew's Church, St. Andrews on Tuesday, February the 8th when Miss Tena McDonald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. McDonald, Maple Hill was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. Alban Bertram McAdam son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. McAdam of West St. Peters, the nuptuol knot being tied by the bride's uncle Rev. P.A. McDonald of Morell.

The bride, who was attended by her sister Miss Annie, looked exceedingly winsome gowned in exquisite blue tailored suit with blue hat trimmed with white ostrich plumes, while the bridesmaid's suit was of blue with hat to match.  Mr Urban McDonald, cousin of the groom, did the honors of best man.  Immediately after the ceremony the happy young couple drove to the home of the bride where a dainty wedding breakfast was partaken of after which the intervening hours were pleasantly whiled away with music and song till dinner was announced about twenty-five sitting down to partake of the sumptuous repast.

Among those present who expressed sentiments of congratulations and felicitations were Revs. P.A. McDonald and I.R.A. McDonald, uncles of the bride, and Revs. A.P. McLellan.  Responding for himself and his bride Mr. McAdam expressed his deep appreciation of the kind sentiments uttered and his heartfelt gratitude for the numerous favors bestowed upon them by their many friends.

In the evening a grand wedding reception was held at the brides home at which about one hundred and fifty specially invited guests were present, the brides costume for the evening being a handsome gown of white satin.  A splendid banquet prepared for the occasion in Mrs. McDonald's immitable style was served at six o'clock and when the guests were ushered to the banquet table laden with tempting viands and choicest delicacies they felt that marriages were indeed made in heaven and that angelic hands were ministering to them.  The sumptuous repast terminating short and appropriote speeches were delivered by Dr. R.J. McDonald, St. Peter's Bay, Mr. H.F. Feehan, Ex.-M.L.A, Mt. Stewart and Mr. James McDonald West St. Peters, all expressing words of congratulations to the young couple to which the groom again ably responded for himself and bride.

The remainder of the evening was socially spent in music mirth and song the wedding reel being gracefully danced to the delight of the guests the music being furnished by Mr. Aeneas McEachern who is a master musician.  Dancing was continued with increasiing good will and merriment throughout the evening which was also enlivened by numerous phonograph selections which called forth unstinted applause and admiration the numerous and costly wedding gifts from frar and near gave but mute testimony of the popularity of the contracting parties.

Among the gifts received were a handsome parlor suit from the brides uncle Revd. P.A. McDonald, Morell cheque from Revd. I.R.A. McDonald, St. Teresa also an uncle of the bride.  Cheque from the groom's uncle, Rev. Gregory McDonald, St. George's, a handsome parlor rug from the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. McAdam, and a beautiful painting from Messrs Jas Paton & Co., Charlottetown, which all goes to show the high esteem in which the young couple were held.

The bride being one of the Mt. Stewarts most popular young ladies having been in the employ of Mr. H.F. Feehan for the past three years where she made many friends and gained the admiration of all by her genial and taking manner.  She also took a lively interest in the social side of life in which she will be greatly missed by her many friends who deeply regret her departure from amongst them but their loss is aother's gain and the young people of Morell, the bride's future home, will no doubt take much pleasure in extending to her a most hearty welcome.

The groom who has lately taken up his abode in Morell has made many friends who will greatly appreciate the pleasure of extending a welcome hand to him and his beautiful and charming young bride with all of whom the Guardian joins in wishing Mr. and Mrs. McAdam a long life of happiness and prosperity."
