ALPHA and OMEGA

(after each question allow the children to answer) Good morning kids. Today we are going to talk about a big word. Repetition. That means to do or say something over and over. When your Mommy and Daddy tell you something once it?s important, right? What if they tell you something twice? It?s even more important, right? And if they tell you something three times, I guess you know you?re in trouble. Well, maybe not, but you do know they really, really mean it. Saying something 3 times is an example of repetition. Well, in the last book of the Bible, God uses repetition to teach us something very important. Listen very carefully to the passages I am going to read. See if you can hear the words that God says again and again. IN Revelation 1 the verse reads. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 21 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Can anyone tell me what words were repeated? Right, I am the Alpha and Omega. What is the first letter of the alphabet? A, that?s right but that is our alphabet. This part of the Bible was written in Greek and in the Greek alphabet, Alpha is the first letter. What is the last letter in our alphabet? Omega is the last letter in the Greek alphabet. What is between A and Z? All the other letters, everything you need to write any word you want. Where God is A and Z, what do you think is between the beginning and the end? Everything. Everything we need to live the way Jesus wants us to live is there, his love and salvation, his grace and understanding. It?s all there, between the beginning and the end. God told us he was the Alpha and Omega three times because he really wanted us to know that he is forever. Nothing came before him, he is the beginning and nothing comes after, he is the end. Just because you can?t see him, he is there. Remember he?s forever. He is you?re A to Z and as he said in the verses we read, he is coming again soon. I can?t wait, how about you? Let?s Pray.
