| HELPFUL CAMP RECOMMENDATIONS: | ||||||||||||||||||
| Some time-tested methods for you to consider! | ||||||||||||||||||
| - Reveille and Retreat will be done wearing an official BSA Uniform so bring a hanger to keep it clean. Those trash bags listed in optional items work good for covering a uniform. | ||||||||||||||||||
| - Use a permanent marker and place initials on all clothing item tags and equipment. Most of us shop at AAFES and many scouts will have similar items or clothes. | ||||||||||||||||||
| - Use one-gallon zip lock bags, placing each day's full set of clothes inside separate bags. For example, they will be wearing Tuesday's clothes. For Wednesday, place a pair of pants/shorts, shirt, socks and underwear in a single Ziploc bag and mark "WEDS". When the scout changes into Wednesday clothes, he can place the dirty clothes from Tuesday into the Ziploc bag, then into his dirty clothes bag. This helps keep dirty clothes from mixing with clean clothes also. Works regardless of number of days the camp is. Put extra shirts, sock and underwear in Ziploc bags marked "EXTRA." This keeps them on track, and keeps things dry even in extreme weather. | ||||||||||||||||||
| - Dehydration is always an issue. They need to have a way of carrying water with them. | ||||||||||||||||||
| - Use a duffle type bag if possible. Hard cover suitcases are difficult to manage inside tents and usually end up getting tipped over or broken | ||||||||||||||||||
