Primitive News vol.7
Tegoshi Yuya talks about music.
What is singing to me ? It's the best way to communicate when you want to say something.
Since the first time he appeared in the Duet Tegoshi said he loved music. Because it's him the theme is music of course. The cool wind from early summer, in a park he speaks with passion about music.
I like music since i'm young... I don't remember very well but my mom says it was like that. Seems like i would sing "Ai wa katsu" by KAN when i was young. When i was in primary school i liked music (and gymnastics) and i had good marks. I was always learning piano. But it wasn't at the point where i couldn't do anything against my love of it.
In second year of junior highschool, there was an event that i won't forget, i can remember it today. Friends took me to the karaoke. I wasn't interested in karaoke at that time so it was only to see my friends. The first song that i sang was one of Porno Graffiti, "Saudage". At that time they were fans of that group and asked for that. When i started to sing i found it cool. When i finished my friends told me that i was singing well. I like to be complimented (laugh), it made me really happy. Since that day i started liking to sing.
In third year, i sent CV, i had this occasion to enter Johnny's Ent. I said to my mom jokingly "Should i enrol ?" and she said lightly "You should send your CV" (laugh). Anyway i thought it was impossible, but i had luck apparently. When i entered Johnny's Ent., at Kat-tun concert, the director said to me "You, you have to sing" (laugh). I was with Massu, we sang "Yuake no uta" of Kondou Masahiko and then "Ikanaide" of (Imai) Tsubasa. Usually i'm someone who's not stressed at all, at that time i wasn't stressed either. It was just "Ah, i'm singing in Yokohama Arena". After that, we were often together with Massu, for the magazines for exemple. One day, i've been brought to a studio. There the ones that i had seen only on TV, Yamashita, Nishikido, Koyama and Uchi were there. I wondered what was going on. It was NEWS debut. Of course i was really happy but i was wondering if it would be alright since i hadn't had any dance course and that i had no experience at all. The thing i could rival with the others... It was just the fact that i loved to sing. Even now it saved me to speak with the others. By inviting them to eat we got used faster to the others. Now the moments i spend with NEWS are the funniest. It's real fun.
Since the last concert with Shige we composed and sang our own songs. Looking at the sempai concerts, they all composed songs and sang them. We thought we should imitate those good aspects of our sempai in a dynamic way. I knew Shige was playing the guitar i told him "I want to do this together in concert, you should write a song" and he said "ok". The lyrics come when we look at people in the train to go to school. Happy couples, couples tearing apart, in each of these situations there's a drama. When i was shooting the movie Shisshou too when i was drinking coffee on a motorway area, it didn't look that bad, there was a couple arguing while talking. As it became a picture, i took it with my cellphone at once and sent it by mail to Shige. Before the concert i go at his home, then he'll come at my home, after work we would go to karaoke together, arranging the song. The melody that Shige is writing is great. When i sing it i think "it's good".
Since NEWS debut, i'm doing concerts, movies, dramas and even ads... Until now i would say "i love to sing" now honnestly i love to sing, play and do ads. I want to invest myself in everything, that means that i want to do it with all my strength. It doesn't mean that i have no more interest in singing, i think i am liking more and more my job. By doing different jobs, i'm making different encounters. It's a bonus better than writting lyrics.
I'm more happy when people listen to me and tell me "it touched me, i cried" than when they say "you sing really well". I want to become a singer who can touche people even without sound, even with a hoarse voice. What singing represent to me ? Now it's the thing i want to be seen the most, it's the best way of communicating when you want to say something. For me, i don't want that to disappear.

My nickname is mabo, i am the maintainer of the site and i'm the one translating everything as well as managing all the timing and encoding stuff for the videos.
The name of the site comes from the anime "Cowboy Bebop" but it represents a style of jazz which is kind of cool too.
08.02.13
I started this site when i was translating some magazines articles and wanted a place to have them all. But then my translation projects evolved and now i'm subbing videos so i thought i should change the name of the site, naming it as a fansub group, and change the layout as well for a fresh new start.
