Private story of early summer

Lives, TV, radio, Arashi members are working in each of these activities. The schedule and announcement of their summer tour are known, but before reuniting in a same event, they told us how they were spending their lives.

+ Satoshi Ohno +

* In the duet of last month i did a photoshooting in a petshop where i bought an hamster, he's doing fine. His name is Sen. My mom named him this way because he had a line (sen in japanese) on the back. But i call him "Ham" or "Hamtarou" (laugh). He's very cute. He follows me, hitting my knees, i think it's when he wants to eat (laugh). The other day, i thought he was resting quietly onmy lap but he was actually peeing... It's more my mom that cares about him, she really loves him. Everyday she makes him take a bath, looks like he loves it. Sometimes he'll fall asleep while taking a bath. Now he's a part of our family.

* Though my goal for 2005 was "Painting" i hadn't paint anything but finaly i've been able to do it ! I had less work to do, i had a little time so i decided to do a "Painting Week" and this is when i started to paint. I had decided the time i needed to paint so i rushed myself. I dreamed i was chasing a lion. The dream where the lion shows his angst on concerts. That's all, i purchased him and i painted him (laugh).

* The other day i went fishing with friends of mine in a lake on the mountains. When we got on the boat the weather was good, the Fuji was beautiful, i took many photos with my friend's camera. At that moment i realised there was no film in it ! We went back to the bank and bought a film then we went back to the boat but the Fuji was already hidden behind the clouds... besides we didn't catch a single fish (cry). we gave up and when we brought back the boat, the old man who take care of the boats asked us "Did you get something (fishing)?" We were so offended we just told a lie "we did fish but we didn't get a lot of fish" (laugh). But it'd been a long time since i hadn't go outside so it was funny. Next time i'd really like to do the Duet photoshoot while fishing.

+ Kazunari Ninomiya +

* Finally the Osaka show "Riyu naki hankou" is over, it feels like a conclusion. It was fun in Osaka. When the show was over i went with the other actors to eat, then we walk in the city of Osaka. In the evening garish cars with music playing really loudly were making a lot of noise, it was the first time i've ever seen that (laugh). I felt a difference of culture there. Maybe people were looking me strangely. At the end of a performance, usually i was always wearing clothes of a classic style, but this time i went to eat with everybody while wearing a yellow sweater. Everybody told me : "please don't do it again !" (laugh). When the very last performance was over, i saw everybody crying and i really felt that it was over. But i didn't cry. Since I'm back in Tokyo, well, i've playing at video games i never used to play at, then on my computer i've composed a song from a melody which i had in mind. Now i'm writing the lyrics.

* Lately, my bedroom has become something incredible. It is in a mess... it looks like a jigsaw, when i take something everything turns into a trap that collapses (laugh). I received a traditionnel musical instrument some time ago, i don't know where it comes from but it is used to pray for the rain, it is 150cm tall, and actually i made it fall. It made a really big noise, i was surprised. And the most incredible is that the next day it did rain (laugh). I didn't believe that it was possible to make the rain fall and i didn't think a musical instrument could have so much power. My hobby lately is to make the rain falls (laugh).

* All the performances are over, now there is... soon i'll have to start the concerts. Omiya SK ? (Omiya is the name of the comic duet formed by Ohno and Nino, it's the combination of their names : O(hno)+(Nino)miya S(atoshi)+K(azunari) ; they started doing this during the summer tour concert in 2003) If i were doing it i couldn't compose. And this is something really embarrassing to do. I could do it but i'm composing my song (laugh). Wait to see what will happen.

+ Masaki Aiba +

*Lately, i've been playing baseball. It was my first time doing it at night and in outdoor. I was mainly proteting the field outside, I had the light illuminating the stadium in my eyes, I couldn't see the ball, it was hard. My impressions on my first experience were "it's difficult at night" (laughs) It was different from the one in the Tokyo Dome. We participated at the match of the staff team but speaking about talent it was Nino and I. Last time Taiyo and Hikaru were there. This time it was really cold. When i was seating on the bench i was shaking because of the cold. We lost the match 10 to 5. The other team was pretty strong so we couldn't win. In fact, for a long time what i felt about it was "I really can't play baseball !" Nino tried to pitch but not me (laughs). And baseball makes you move your body. Lately, i have a "Sports Boom" inside me. It hurts the muscles in the back and the arms so i get lazy.

*Then i also went to see MatsuJun play "East of Eden". I went there with Nino and Atsuhiro (Satou), we watched it the 3 of us together. MatsuJun was great. Particularly in the scene with his mother, i was really moved. There are other moments too but... i remembered this moment and i wanted to tell it to the person itself directly (laughs) After watching the play, we went to the dressing room and i said "this time i can express my feelings at ease". Many fans came so we could only made a basic salutation (laughs)

*During summer, it's live time ! Soon the rehearsals will start. We didn't prepare this, nothing has been decided yet. Then the album will be released so starting from tomorrow we'll begin the recording. Anyway, i'll do my best. Ah ! What to do with my hair. Cut or not cut ? Now i don't know what to do.

*Then i was thinking "I want to do karting !" and it became possible. I did some 2 years ago. You can see all the details on page 163 !

+ Sakurai Sho +

*Lately I'm watching a lot of DVDs. Movies, dramas, comic actors. I went to borrow i don't know how many DVD i wanted to see. The truth is that i've bought the "Tiger&Dragon" special DVD with too much energy. After buying it i thought "Ah! I'm a Johnny's. I could have borrowed it at work..." (laughs). Ah ! "Tiger&Dragon" was really funny.

*One thing or other i don't really go out of here. Lately, i went to Hokkaido. I was on vacation but i didn't have the time to go abroad... So i went to Sapporo. After arriving i realized i had come there before only for work. But it wasn't in Sapporo so it was ok. I went there with my sempai, we thought "let's eat something good" and we made plans to eat and do other things. But then i realized that even if there was a lot of things to eat it would take some time before I get hungry. So first i went to do tourism to the clock tower, i remembered that i had been there 4 years ago for a duet article (n�6 of 2001). My sempai seemed to have come to the clock tower before for a field trip... one more time we took photos. Then we went to see the old books of Hokkaido governement office. It was really beautiful. I thought i should keep a proof of the trip, we took pictures but it's quite a shame for 2 guys to take pictures of themselves (laughs) This journey lasted for 3 days. We eated ramen, sushi and Hokkaido specialities. Do i like trips ? I don't dislike it, sure i think i like this process. When i leave, i buy a guide at the airport. In the plane i read it carefuly and when we arrive i know it on details more than my friends. But this time the journey only lasted 1h30 so it was impossible to do this. But it was great.

*There are demo songs of the album, each year the time of conception for all the concerts makes my heart beat faster. It's when we have some time left, we want to see the stage, we listen to music and we plan the concert, the things we have to think about for work become numerous.

+ Matsumoto Jun +

* We met the day of half of the preformances with joy (these informations are from may) It was like : "We've already done half of it ?" The show this time wasn't hard, there were no difficulties... What to say, we made it happily. After the performance, I went to eat with 3 or 4 of the co-actors. It was the first time I was playing a leading role all alone but strangely I wasn't aware of it. More than that, I wanted to do it happily with everybody... it was like we decided to do everything we could in that purpose. In the dressing room, it happens that we talk with people, or alond while listening to music we just gaze into space, we read the polls that the audience answered to.

* Lately, we had a party where every person from work came. After the performance i arrived late where we had our appointment, i came in quietly, i was eating silently in the back but near me Yamaguchi and Atsuhiro were speaking enough of what had happened (laughs) There, Atsuhiro invited me and i let myself be dragged to drink. There was also Ta-kun, (Domoto) Tsuyoshi and Nino. It was the first time i was going to drink with Yamaguchi, Ta-kun and Tsuyoshi. We talked about several things, how it was great to ba a part of Johnny's Entertainement. Yamaguchi is really funny ! For me it's just like a new face. Until now there wasn't anybody like that around me. It was really refreshing. How to say that... With Atsuhiro we were talking warmly, "it's a good thing, so let's drink !" We said that at least 100 times (laughs). We drank until the morning but in the end there was only Atsuhiro, Yamaguchi and i left. Atsuhiro came home first, Yamaguchi and i let our managers do everything, Nino went home with the trumper he had forgotten (laughs) It seems Nino became popular with the actors of his play thanks to that trumpet... When he was drunk he did the same joke 3 times (laughs) It was the joke material he used in the Arashi dressing room when he was announcing something. I think Nino had fun too. Tsuyoshi was more like : "i want tot do it twice a week", it was a funny party.

+ East of Eden +

After Nino's play "Riyu naki hankou" last month, this time here's a report of what happened in the Tokyo Globe theater where the play "East of Eden" took place. The play goes to Tokyo and Osaka and the main character is played by Matsumoto.

Matsumoto Jun, for his first solo main role plays in "East of Eden". This work is a performance related to the official event for the 50 years of the death of James Dean. Matsumoto took the challenge to play the role of Cal that James Dean played in the movie. As he says : "i don't want to play James Dean, i just want to play a character named Cal that he also played." It became a show were we can feel that he was enthusiastic at the idea of performing his own interpretation of Cal. The story takes place in the United States before World War One. The father a christian devot, twins with strictly opposite personalities, the older brother Aaron who holds the trus of his father and the 3 of them are Cal's family. Hard to please, he couldn't integrate into the surroundings. What he really wanted with his hostility was the love of his father. To help his father who ha d huge debts because of the failure of his company, he did a lot of efforts. Someone understands Cal and it's his brother's girlfriend, Abra, their souls come in touch, they share memories of their dead mothers. Though he has a sharp mind he's a subtil and naive young man, a wonderful part to play. One by one his face expresses anxiety, then sometimes he shows his smile and sadness too. The strength to reveal this feeling he can't share with anyone. In the interview after the end ot the rehearsals one of the co-actors Kobashi said "It's like ha has the power to drag everybody, he is the leader of the troup !" and MatsuJun answered intimidated "I only think i want to accomplish this happily with everyone" And says with a natural smile "i've accomplished a deep work of expression again."
