1 The Four Kaioshins, Dai-Kaioshin, and Rou-Dai-Kaioshin
Above the lesser Kaios and Dai-Kaio, there is a Supreme Kaio (Kaioshin) for each of the four galaxies. Kaioshins, like lesser Kaios, are immortal unless killed in combat. Kaioshins generally turn over their responsibilities to younger Kaioshins after several millennia. Almost all of the Kaioshins were obliterated when Majin Buu attacked Kaioshin-Kai. The West and North Kaioshins were killed in fights with Buu, while he absorbed the mighty South Kaioshin and gentle Dai-Kaioshin. Buu, thinking he would become more powerful, did not count on the Kaioshins' Curse. Instead of gaining new strengths, he became fat and weak, as well as gaining new mentality from the goodly Kaioshins.
The East Kaioshin was the only survivor of the massacre. He escaped with a severe injury and a deeply embedded hatred for Buu. East Kaioshin, though the weakest, was rescued from death by the Dai-Kaioshin, who was subsequently absorbed, to East Kaioshin's
never-ending guilt. In retaliation, East Kaioshin hunts down Bibidi, Buu's creator, defeats him in a duel, and casts Buu's dormant cocoon to Earth, where it remained for millennia.
The Dai-Kaioshin was the fat and gentle master of the Kaioshins. His good- natured, innocent attitude influenced Fat Buu later on after his absorption. Dai-Kaioshin saved the East Kaioshin from certain death at the hands of Buu.
Rou-Dai-Kaioshin is an ancient Dai-Kaioshin. He was accidentally fused with a witch at a young age, one of the risks of the Potara. He was later sealed within the Legendary Zhetto Sword. According to the rules, whoever trained hard enough and became powerful
enough to shatter the massive blade would receive the Mystic Upgrade from the Rou-Dai-Kaioshin. Gohan accomplished this, but the Rou-Dai-Kaioshin only agreed to give the upgrade if he could touch Bulma's breasts. So much like Kame-sen'nin?
Kibito was a lesser Kaioshin who was the East Kaioshin's servant. Later on they are fused with the Potara earrings, though there is little evidence of Kibito in the fusion except from the change in the East Kaioshin's appearance. Kibito was a powerful healer, as well as many other amazing skills.
The most well known Kaioshin is the Eastern Kaioshin. He is a very powerful fighter in his own right, though most do not appreciate his contributions to the Dragonball genre. Without him Buu would have decimated the entire universe, and no one would have been
able to stop him to begin with. Without him, nobody would have learned fusion, there would have been no trip to Kaioshin-kai, and no Mystic upgrade from the Rou-Dai-Kaioshin.
Here are some of the Eastern Kaioshin's techniques:
Kai-Kai : The ability to teleport anywhere in the universe without having to lock onto chi. Makes Goku's "Instant Transmission" seem inferior, eh?
Kanashibari-No-Jytsu : The ability to paralyze someone with psychic energy. (He used this one on Gohan during the World Tournament, remember?)
Ki-Aigan (Or Ki-Aigan-An-Ki) : The ability to fire an amazingly powerful wave of chi at someone just by looking at them. This attack can harm just about anyone, including Buu.
Toomi-No-Jytsu : The ability to sense what is occurring in another part of the universe.
Bushitsu-Shyutsu-Gen-Majytsu : The ability to create items such as clothing out of thin air. Most of the mystically inclined characters possess this ability.
