Our Car's
We've had several Mopars in the 35 years Bob and I have been married.
Our first was a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 4-speed.
We bought it in 1973, it had 2500 miles on it and still under warranty.
It was light brown with a brown vinyl top, white bucket seats.
The GTS was our everyday driver, Bob drove it to work in the woods (Bob at that time was a log cutter).
Guess what was carried in the truck............Chain saws, bar oil, gas and spare parts.
We drove it hunting and several deer was carried in the trunk.
We even went camping in it to pick Huckleberries.
Someone always wanted to race, and it was fast.......... I can only remember one time Bob lost a race and that was because it spun out. Looking back on it now I can't believe we street raced that car with our two kids in the back seat. Maybe that's why our Daughter Shannon got three speeding tickets within the first year of her having her driver's license with her 1969 Slant six Dodge Dart, and our son Robbie got his first speeding ticket racing a car in Spokane, with his sister's 1989 Dodge Daytona, I remember him says but I won the race mom. Of course it didn't help when Bob took his 1966 Coronet Race car down by the High School, turned it lose and left black marks that stayed two years. All the kids knew it was Shannon and Robbie Dad that did it.
We traded that car for a 1976 Dart Sport in 1977. That was a big mistake. Our family was going and we had three kids by than. Two month after we traded it off it got totaled. A sad story, a dad bought for her daughters and than we killed in it.
As the years went by we always had a Mopar to drive or Race.
Bob got his 1966 Dodge Coronet Hemi car in 1987, I got my 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 340 in 1988. Bob had a 1966 Coronet Race Car he raced at Spokane Raceway Park for several years. We have a basement full of First Place, Best of Show winners for both his Hemi and my Dart. Shannon got a 1989 Dodge Daytona in her senior year of school, Robbie had a 1964 Sport Fury by the time his was 14. Our youngest son Rich liked my Dart so much he took it for drives several times without our permission before he was even 16.
The pictures will show several of our cars we have had and what we have now.
When Bob got hurt 6 years ago, and lost his right leg it didn't stop him from enjoying his cars.
We will always be a Mopar Family.
Our Grandchildren enjoy them as has much has we do.
