John MARTIN

RECORDS John Martin was a PVT in the American Revolution, Samuel How's
Company Virginia Reg of the Cont. Line Comm. By Spottswood and
Fabiaer. John moved with a Colony of Baptist from Orange and
Culpepper County's Virginia to Clark County, Kentucky. He was in the
party from the Fort that persued five Indians that took the daughter
of Col. Galloway and one of the daughters of Daniel Boone. They were
all rescued as you can read in the school history books. NOTES:
Goochland Va. deed book. Some may have an old Virgina map that will
give a location of the water ways. Page 402. Aug. 16, 1782 from Neil
McCann of County of Amherst, to John AllowayStrange of Fluvanna, for
50 Pds, one certian tract of about 200 acres of land in Fluvanna on
the West side of Ballenger's Creek. the Supposed half of a survey of
400 acres, the other part or half lying on the east side and in the
possession of John Martin and the Babers, and decended to me after my

of Valentine Martin dated 21 May 1758 and proven 20 Jul 1760 in
Cumberland County, Virginia and Temple records
