Our Business Description
The deployment of IT in traditional industries such as leather industry is
not widespread. Most of the companies use computer systems for basic functions
like email, pay roll processing etc.
Enterprise Resource Planning/Supply Chain Management systems are deployed
for a single company and enable the company to manage its supplies, operations
and customer relations.
Multi-enterprise systems from BSG go one step further and integrates the
ERP systems of all the participating companies so that Company A can manage
all their suppliers (S1, S2 etc) AND all their buyers (B1, B2 etc) by accessing
relevant data from THEIR systems (S1.ERP, S2.ERP, B1.ERP, B2.ERP etc) and
manage internal operations with their own ERP system (A.ERP).
With background in leather industry, the promoters of BSG launched BSG LeatherLink
for companies in leather industry.
The system is available through internet. Users can access their system
from any where in the world at any time of the day. This will enable companies
to interact with their partners (suppliers/buyers) and conduct internal operations
efficiently. An offline version is also available for companies who do not
want to be online all the time. Data is synchronized to the central server
according to the specified schedule.
The application is driven by a Relational Database Management System (Postgresql),
user interface is generated by a scripting language (PHP) and delivered through
a web server (Apache). The choice of software is decided by the low total
cost of ownership, security record and flexibility.
Development of the overall framework for BSG LeatherLink and one module (for
tanneries) have been already completed. The tannery module is being marketed
in South India now. In addition we are planning to develop the
following modules to cover the entire range of leather supply chain:
- Footwear manufacturing and supply module
- Leather Garments manufacturing and supply module
- Small leather goods manufacturing and supply module
- Leather chemicals and machinery supply module
- Distribution/ retailing module
In the coming months we plan to complete the development of the other modules
and start marketing the system to leather industry all over the world.
The vision is that we will emerge as the provider of a platform on which
companies and leather and leather products industry will conduct all their
information maangement and communications within and outside the company.
For example we will offer conferencing, seminar room, chat facilities as
add ons to our core application.
We are looking to accelerate the development of the application and launch
the product globally. We need expertise in technical issues and funding from
venture capitalists.
