Remember summer 2002? Those were the months spent almost constantly using Final Fantasy 10, and great months they were. In fact, even now, I still go back to build up my stats a little more, and take one more peak into the wonderful world Square created. Soon though, there could be an expansion to that world. For the first time, Square look set to make a Final Fantasy sequel, not just a new episode in the story, but an actual sequel to the original Final Fantasy 10. This new game will, in true sequel fashion, be called Final Fantasy X-2.

Rumours a while back suggested that both Yuna and Rikku would star in their own spin-off titles, but it seems now that they will be combined into this single game. Apparently the star is Yuna, though I know a lot of people would prefer it the other way round! Posters released a while back showed Yuna in a new outfit, one more suited to Lara Croft than a summoner, showing that Square were really after something a little different with this game.

Main features seem to be the new moves Yuna will be able to perform. As well as the regular battle system (which is probably going to be re-worked) she will be able to climb, crawl and jump, things you could only do in set places in previous FF games. Whether or not this will worth is unknown, after all, there are already enough Tomb Raider games out there. If Square get this right though, it could become yet another great hit in 2003.

While you wait for more details, take a look at these fine screenshots and art work:

Very hotpants :D A new side to Yuna
