    Full Preview:
Boba Fett, the powerful bounty hunter of The Empire Strikes Back (the hunter who captured Han Solo) is the son of Jango Fett, who appeared in the recently released Attack of the Clones. Jango is also a renowned bounty hunter, and the star of this game. Set before the events of Episode 2, this game follows the path of Jango on an epic adventure, spread across large portions of the star wars universe.

Bounty Hunter aims to provide the gamer with a more free roaming world than genre leaders such as Devil May Cry, allowing you to explore, armed of course with dual blaster pistols, jet packs, missiles, flame throwers, toxic darts, the classic sniper rifle, and many more impressive weapons.

The central plot of the game involves the pursuit of a "deranged" jedi, wielding two lightsabers, and no doubt aiming at anything that comes close. The gameplay is not limited by a small number of objectives though as there are always opportunities to take on other hunts elsewhere, bringing in mercenaries, monsters (potentially a rancor or two) and other evil found across the many locations visited (notably including Coruscant and of course Tattooine).

Importantly, the cut scenes will be taken care of by industrial light and magic, whilst Skywalker sound will deal with the various effects needed. Their combined expertise should lead to a more authentic and immersive experience than in any other Star Wars title. Even music from John Williams will play a part, filling the game interludes with true Star Wars sound.

    Some exciting features:

    • 18 Levels spread across 6 different worlds.
    • Over 100 different creatures, all found in the Star Wars universe.
    • The ability to fly using a jet pack when walking becomes futile.
    • A selection of more than ten weapons, each of which the real Boba Fett would be proud of.
    • Skywalker Sound, Industrial Light and Magic, and even John Williams music all adding to the game.
The graphics are certainly up to scratch, and so far all the necessary plot elements and gameplay details seem to be in place, but what remains to be seen is the quality of the control system. If the game is to be a complete success then the controls need to have the supreme feel as those in Devil May Cry. Anything less and the game could feel clunky and go the same way as so many other Star Wars titles. Its something we`ll have to wait to see until nearer its release in late 2002.
