Is Chaos Random?
Chaos does not appear to have a predictable behaviour pattern. It arises in a deterministic system because it is very sensitive to initial conditions. Chaos starts in a dynamical system, if two arbitrarily close starting points take an exponential number of alternate paths. The overwhelming number of possibilities causes the result to become unpredictable.
This means that chaotic behaviour, although appearing to lack order, arises from a very rigid cause. It is highly sensitive to any disturbances, because every change in the system will compound with time. Also, because of the extreme disorder, predicting the future path of the system is practically impossible.
